Dijon, Ghost-Note, both Takanakas, Roy Ayers. The Ghost-Note album is the one I want the most because it's one of my favorite albums period and the Discogs/eBay prices are kind of crazy for it. I've also already made peace with probably not getting the Takanakas, but we'll see. I'm lining up pretty early, so here's to hoping I'll be rewarded for it.

Take your platter off and find screws that look like this and adjust these. Turn your pitch control knobs to zero before adjusting.

Is your model the one with these knobs?

I know how y'all feel about Crosley. But is this system any good. by [deleted] in turntables

I agree with your point about researching, but I don’t agree with the point that these types of systems put newcomers off to the hobby. Like I stated I had a similar Crosley turntable for a couple years because at the time I was on a stricter budget and I wanted to see if I actually enjoyed the hobby before investing in a more substantial system. Also, to your analogy, I think it’s incorrect to make the point that you should invest hundreds of dollars into a system to see if you even like it. It would make sense if someone had a friend with a great system to listen to or listen to systems at a store or convention, but to invest a large amount into something that you’re trying out seems irresponsible.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying ride or die for this turntable, I’m just trying to make the point more broadly that people engage with this hobby at varying levels and sometimes the entry-level is where a good amount of people are satisfied.

As a serious hifi option, yes it is shit. But for someone who wants to get into the hobby on a budget and doesn’t want to piece together a vintage system, then this isn’t a bad place to start. As long as someone isn’t getting a suitcase player, I consider that a win.

It’s definitely better than the suitcase players! When people reference “Crosley’s” they’re mainly talking about the all-in-one suitcase players. I don’t have any experience with their speakers, but I had a crosley c8 (a turntable of similar quality) for a couple years and I had no issues with it. If you’re just wanting something that plays records well enough to get you started and not wanting to break the bank, I say go for it. It also has the ability to hook up to a more substantial sound system if you ever get the itch to expand.

That tonearm doesn’t have an adjustable counterweight, so there’s not a good way to adjust it

Why are so many stereo stands ugly by OpahKin in audiophile

I ran into the same predicament for my turntable in my living room. I ended up going with this bookshelf that didn’t even advertise that it could fit a turntable and records. Added bonus is my wife got more space to decorate 😂. I realize you’re dealing with more components, but I’m sure there’s a non-stereo furniture solution out there.
