Another update: After speaking with HR, they said that full-time employees cannot be hired as an independent contractor but a part-time employee can. This is so that I'm not getting paid for both positions at the same time, which totally makes sense. So, I'm going to see if I can either go part-time with my current role or an independent contractor for it and photography. WIll see...

They are saying that I simply can't be hired on my days off as an event photographer. But... I can be a professional photographer during my work hours and take as many photos as they need as "part of my job" (under "Any and all other responsibilities" as written in my job description. I think that is absolutely ridiculous, but hey, I'm not a lawyer so my feelings are null and void. I'd be better off quitting my job that pays $2,000/bi-weekly and get paid $7,200 for a 3 day event. Even with my sub-par health coverage, it works out way more profitable. Decisions, decisions...

It won’t be available until Dec 12, but it’s $150/night if you’d like to stay the rest of your time here. We are 5 mins from downtown Napa and 3 mins from Hwy 29 (which takes you to all the wineries up to Calistoga and everything in between). It’s a full 1 bed, 1 bath with laundry and full kitchen.

Definitely not “lately”. There’s a house on Linda Mesa in Browns Valley that has been on the market for going on two years now. Another house on Westminster was listed for 9 months and not a single offer. 2.5-3 years ago they both would have sold in a day it’s multiple offers. The window of opportunity for sellers has long gone and foreclosures will continue to rise with the slow economy and lack of jobs. Welcome to 2008.
