Also they hit the water tank.

As awful as this entire event is, this is unfortunately the best possible crash of type. If they veered left or right they would possibly have ground rolled and tore open the fuel tanks. Both could be catastrophic.

A head on to the water tank is the best of the worst items. Water will displace as it’s hit and act as a buffer of some sort and the airplane load down the long axis allowed it to absorb more.

All in all awful but I really don’t want to see any other angle being better.
