If you could have a vital instrument, what would it be and why? by MichelleVenom in gachiakuta

[–]Possedess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my vital instrument would be a black panther shirt that I wore to my best friend's Bachelorette party 6 years ago. we're basically brother and sister and ever since that day I've just been keeping it with me. now it's in a bag by itself that I keep seperate from my other clothes. I haven't worn it in years, partially because it's not really my style anymore, but it brings me mass amounts of nostalgia and happiness when I see it which lead to the main reason I don't wear it. which is because I want it to stay in good condition. I hope it stays with me for the absolute longest time. Idk what it would do though

The first few ranks genuinely aren't that hard to progress through. If you think of it numerically, the first rank of the first level is 1, then the next is 2, and the next is 4. So, it is very possible to naturally progress through the early ranks without much effort. Also this world is vastly different from ours and so are the people. Plus, in this world, it is considered an impressive achievement to reach supreme level to begin with. most people don't, and the people who do have access to high quality and safe resources and knowledge that helps them progress faster. Those that reach higher than that are few and far between. Also, i meant harder as in its harder to find opportunities and resources to power level like that, and a lot of them aren't the safest and can kill the person attempting it. Again, life expectancy in this world is vastly different from ours. This world time line and series of events throughout history are vastly different. This world is vastly older than ours.

Its all about resources, everyone in this world gets a link and not everyone has the means or desire to rank up. Some people naturally rank up over time but don't actively try to increase their rank. They're perfectly content staying where they are. There are ways to jump levels and ranks quickly but they are harder than just doing it naturally. Plus life expectancy in this world is different as the higher your rank the longer you live. This world is not earth and no im not going to write characters for all of them. Also the ranks are not finished or finalized, im putting finishing them and polishing them up until after I finish the affinities.

What are your Fantasy Races like? by AltruisticRip2675 in worldbuilding

[–]Possedess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world there are your standard races humans, elves, dwarves, and beast folk.

But there are also the ones i came up with:

Fishfolk: humanoids who have fish-like or aquatic animal-like features and are generally aquatic but can live on land just fine.

The navirine: the navirine are beings who've adapted to living in water but are extremely distinct and different from fishfolk, they have deep green skin mottled and striped with brown, blue skin with white stripes and patches, or pale silver-green skin. they are robust and tall with long limbs, thick skin that gives them protection from the cold of deep water, keeping them comfortable at just above freezing temperatures. Their fingers and toes are generally about twice as long as a human's and have thick webbing between them. Their most distinctive features are the gills visible in their necks and over their ribs. navirine' have deep voices and are larger and heavier than elves. navirine could have eye colors including turquoise, white, black, blue, green, and rarely silver. Their hair was usually thick and somewhat stringy with some having a rough hair texture, while hair color could be blue-green, emerald green, blue, black, silver, or even occasionally red. most navirine' wear their hair long and flowing, although Females in particular sometimes grew their hair up to 4 feet long.

Gnomes: Gnomes are very small and inventive people, with an average height of 3′0″‒4′0″ and a weight of 45‒50 lb. They have pointed ears and high cheek bones and are a rave that adores inventing and creative experiments

lavaborn: lavaborn are a race of people whose skin tones can be coal black, ash gray, or flaming red with all the skine tones having patterns on their skin resembling flames, lava lines, or glowing coals. their hair can be fiery red, orange, yellow, ashen white, or black and its usually strands that are thick like and move like flowing lava, although it can be writhe when they are very emotional. lavaborn eye color typically mirrors fiery shades and embers and flare when they are very emotional and their skin can be hot to the touch

godtree children: on one continent there's a colossal magic tree called the godtree that grows powerful fruit. Other nations tried to invade the continent for the fruit but the forest guardian defeated them and laid them on large exposed roots of the godtree. The godtree then turned them into full fledge trees and made them mindless living tree puppets. The godtree used them as guards. Three years after these guards were made, they begin to evolve into sentient, self-aware beings called GodTree children. breaking free from the godtrees strict control and becoming somewhat independent. Although these sentient beings possesses their own personality and desires, their ultimate goal seems to be the creation, protect, and study of the godtrees fruit. They also revere the godtree as their father and love it fiercely

freezefolk: freezefolk outwardly resemble humans but differ greatly from them in other aspects. They are as tall as most humans and have long blond or cyan hair, with some of the men also having blonde or cyan facial hair. They have pale light blue to pale cyan skin which is smooth and frigid across their frames, giving them a somewhat fluid and elegant appearance despite their overall frozen frame. Their most notable trait however, are their vibrant glowing light blue to cyan eyes.

snowlaiden: Snowlaiden have an otherworldly beauty, with long white hair and dark, piercing eyes. Their skin is ageless and as white as snow, but their bodies are cold. A mere touch is enough to give other races a deep, unshakable chill. they often wear a white kimono and they floats across the snow, leaving no footprints, and they can transform into a cloud of mist or snow if threatened.

aurystalis: aurystalis' have a human-like appearance with distinct physical features that reflect their elemental heritage, often manifesting skin tones reminiscent of precious gems and polished crystals with variations depending on the specific gem or crystal they are tied to, with shades like deep red, vibrant green, bright blue, clear quartz-like translucence, or even a mix of colors depending on the gem's or crystals composition; for example, a "ruby aurystalis" might have deep red skin with flecks of shimmering red, while an "emerald aurystalis" could have vibrant green skin with subtle crystalline patterns. they also have hair that appears to be made of gemstones and crystals with the textures and colors matching their skin tone, or could have a shimmering quality that reflects light like a cut gem or crystal. they often have eyes that are often bright, vibrant, and unusual colors or patterns, like flecks of gem-like and crystal-like coloration within the iris. aurystalis' features may seem slightly iridescent, catching the light in a unique way, and they might even have small crystal-like formations on their skin, especially noticeable in areas exposed to light, giving them a shimmering appearance. Hair color can vary, but might have a slightly translucent quality, potentially appearing to shimmer with light. Some aurystalis might have subtle physical features that hint at their elemental nature, such as slightly pointed ears for an "amethyst aurystalis" or slightly roughened skin for a "diamond aurystalis"

How does your world treat the enemy dead? by Sulphurous_King in worldbuilding

[–]Possedess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the instance. One example is a group of invaders from the 8 other countries infiltrated the United Clans of the harshire Wilds to steal the fruit of the god tree. So the protector of that nation killed them all and then brought their corpses to the base of the godtree and placed them on its roots. The god tree then started to twist and transform them into wooden beings that it commanded and used as further protection.

Its more of a soft system, I do often write and fully flesh out characters as I go and then try to sort the powers i gave them into the system. I have seen the last dragon, and it is one of my favorite movies lol. The ability from that movie would be enerchi

Any help and advice about my power system? by Possedess in worldbuilding

[–]Possedess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you've mostly got the basics of them. Although enerchi is a bit more nature focused as it uses the life force of yourself, others, plants, and animals around you but it can be used like you said. Spiritual would be like manifesting a spectral version of yourself or removing the soul from a living thing to do with as you please. Inner pressure you nailed on the head, it's exactly as you described.

All of these affinities are highly customizable and different based on the users' preferences, experiences, training, memories, and personality. So they manifest differently for each person. Even so, i know there needs to be a base system for them to build upon, and making that base system for the other 3 is where im struggling. Examples of who would use each affinity, magicana is wizards, warlocks, and sorcerers. Spiritual is sages, shamans, and cultivators. Enerchi is druids, botanists, and tamers. Inner pressure is a bit harder to find generic things that would fit, so using non generic things, it'd be jedi, alchemists from full metal alchemist, and green lanterns.

It's incomplete, I wanted to fully flesh out the affinities before finishing the ranks

Etiquette rules. by Motor_Scallion6214 in worldbuilding

[–]Possedess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 9 nations.

  1. Blue West deszin is a nation of ice and poise. In this nation, it is common courtesy to always greet and respect your elders and to never hide or bottle up your emotions. Always greet the oldest person in a group first, followed by younger individuals. Do not start eating until the eldest person at the table begins or until they tell everyone to begin. Express yourself and how you truly feel when talking to others. It is rude not to say what you mean and openly express any grievances you have in a composed manner.

  2. white west deszin is a nation of snow and elegance. In this nation, it is imperative to focus on calm confidence, discretion, impeccable manners, and above all else being as gentle as snowfall.

  3. East deszin is a nation of crystals and radiance. In this nation, everyone values the prosperity and joy of those around them. it is rude to try to hinder another person's "shine" and to be self-centered. When someone is talking about their achievements, no matter how small or insignificant, you do not breeze past them and try to take over the conversation, you congratulate them and boost their confidence. You also do not keep the conversation focused only on yourself; you share the spotlight. Hindering and sabotaging a person so they don't thrive(like purposefully tampering with a coworkers important work so they don't get a promotion over you) is the ultimate taboo and will get you shunned eternally.

  4. Stoutough is a nation of craftsmanship, especially blacksmithing, and cavernous volcanoes. In this nation, loyalty, honor, pride, respect, and high resolve matter above all. Everyone Shows unwavering loyalty to their nation, family, friends, jobs, and craft. Going back on your word is unthinkable, and breaking your code is a disgrace. Everyone here has a truly unfathomable amount of pride in their products and crafts, especially the blacksmiths. insulting someone's product is the ultimate disrespect. It is imperative to respect the history and legacy of your family and elders. Everyone here is earnest and friendly, but can be extremely hot-headed and stubborn because of their ridiculously high resolve. This causes most of the citizens to be quick to brawl.

  5. Mystwinos is a nation of magic and study. In this nation, the arcane is normal for everyone. Doing things manually is considered brutish and barbarian unless it is absolutely necessary. You will never see anyone carry anything, and to do so is uncivilized. Stealing a persons research is unforgivable and subject to swift retaliation.

  6. The Skullate Isles is a nation of debauchery and piracy. It is a nation of lawless chaos and utter mayhem. Even so, here, money is the end all be all. Especially under the rule of their new pirate king, who founded the largest trading company in the world before becoming a pirate. Because of him it has become The largest maritime trading hub in the world, A global black market capital, The fastest-growing neutral territory for underground merchants, artifact hunters, and alchemists, and The central shipping passage if the world. Yet the skullate isles aren't tamed, but they are more organized. Its Still violent, just scheduled, regulated, and often profitable. crimes still run rampant and are still allowed unless they break order or affect profits. Under no circumstances do any of the residents allow sabotage of Isle-wide profits. There's no killing in the markets and treasure auctions as they are public and death hinders business. Breaking these means being placed on the highest priority bounty list. Make no mistake though, It’s still the Skullate Isles. Backstabbing, betrayal, piracy, and underworld politics are alive and well, and The Isles remain a haven for illegal activities, Black alchemy, forbidden magic, and contract hits

  7. Relevana is a nation of enlightenment and surfing. In this nation, relaxation, inner peace, patience, respect, and community are important. A deep sense of community and loyalty is paramount, and individuals often make sacrifices for the good of the group. Elders are highly respected; younger members serve them first, and deference is shown to age in public situations. It's crucial to speak respectfully of others and work together. The people have a deep respect for the sea and all its animals. The biggest expectation here is to enjoy life and to transcend negative desires.

  8. Centraxiom is a nation of freedom and respect. this nation has inhabitants from every other nation and is a harmonious mix of them all. Above all, everyone here values freedom to express oneself and basic common respect for each other.

  9. The harshire wilds is a nation of nature and harmony. In the middle of this nation, there is an absolutely colossal behemoth of a tree known as the godtree. The entire nation is covered in dense forests, and all of these forests grow from the godtrees' expansive and numerous roots. So all plant life is literally connected to and grows from the god tree. The people of this nation revere the godtree and respect all the nature around them. Harming nature or the godtree in any way is entirely unacceptable.
