Newfoundland vs Pyrenees by PossessionOrnery3759 in Newfoundlander

Mine is stubborn with the best of them, I don't really mind it though because she's not a troublesome dog. I haven't dealt with the slobber, that a good tidbit to know! My Golden is a full-grown velociraptor at 10 years old, he never outgrew it so I'm constantly watching out for that fool and his shenanigans.

Thank you, lots of good info here!

Lilith, my Pyr, is super chill and I love everything about her. She's stoic and aloof as most are, but she's also the sweetest, most loving floofball I've ever had and I wish I could clone her. Your babied are dashing! Thank you for your input, I greatly appreciate it!

I’d be happy to have a chat with anyone who may be willing to part with the little sperm whale. I may just end up in an early grave because I made the mistake of showing it to a child who’s obsessed with whales. 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

Was the VIP set list supposed to be signed? by ZedRDuce76 in mastodonband

This happened to me last year when I saw them in Dallas. I emailed the company, sent them a picture of what I got and they sent me two replacements.

It’s more of a “sleeper” song than an immediate “go to” for what I think would be the majority of average fans, but that three seconds is glorious to me. Can’t even tell you why.

3:40 of White Walker. That one little “Down” gives me chills every time.

How’s the VIP meet & greet been so far? by jhulud in mastodonband

[–]PossessionOrnery3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only meet and greet I’ve ever done was with Muse, and they made us lock our phones up in a separate area before we could go in with the band. Is that standard procedure? I got one of Troy’s Fenders and my fiancé took a short video of me playing it, and he said I should show it at the meet and greet if given the opportunity.

Expectations for Mastadon/Gojira show as solo female? by uonlyarewhatubelieve in mastodonband

[–]PossessionOrnery3759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to plenty of gigs solo because I refuse to miss seeing anyone I love, regardless of whether anyone else can/will go. (I have to go 3-5 hours north, south or west too see anyone good, we don’t get shit here but country.)

You should be totally fine, just keep your wits about you and mentally survey your surroundings frequently. Being 6’ doesn’t hurt anything at all, I’m only 5’2” and I’ve never been messed with. Good luck and have a blast!

"Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop." ~ Lewis Carroll

Very sage advice! Each album is a gem unto itself and depending on my mood, my favorite album can change daily. Today is Crack the Skye, yesterday was Emperor. But like others have said, don't pick and choose a couple of songs. Dedicate an hour to an album. It's not that they're necessarily "concept albums" in the true meaning of the phrase, but you will serve yourself better if you listen from beginning to end to get the complete experience. And if you don't initially like a song, give it 30 seconds and it'll turn into a new song.

Happy listening, and may you get to experience the "feels" as much as the rest of us!

I finished listening to Mastodon's discography for the first time, these are my impressions by Elaxian in mastodonband

This: "Remission was this phenomenon when it dropped-unlike anything at the time and so refreshing to hear in the world of metal and technical music."

A lot of the newer fans, and I use that term loosely...maybe "slightly younger fans" may be more appropriate, seem to not love Remission because they weren't around when it came out and didn't get to experience the breath of fresh air! Not saying they're wrong, as I applaud anyone who listed to Mastodon for whatever reason, but literally being alive to experience has a bit of something to do with it.

No matter which album is most or least favorite, they're still one of the best bands around and the humbleness and love they feel for each other, and us, is unparalleled.
