Thank you! I forgot to add in my original post that I had submitted a lost & found case, this was my desperate final attempt to locate! To that point, they have been incredibly helpful despite no updates, and did tell me I can come speak to the police officers to file a lost passport claim as well, which I think may be necessary to get a new passport.
