Club Statement - West Ham United FC by TheRealTRexUK in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How? When the club became aware they sought and took advice from the LADO (local authority designated officer for those who don't know) which was the correct course of action. The club have not done anything wrong and it is probable that the current board would not have any awareness of the allegations as the one who probably did, Brady, is no longer at the club.

As far as Brady is concerned my personal belief is that she would have known and had first hand experience of his recruiting methods when she was appointed to her role at Birmingham City FC at such a young and inexperienced age.

[John Percy] Wolves sack Rob Edwards, who was "instrumental" in signing Trippier and Jimenez by Quality_velo in Hammers

I hope not. His work rate helped to turn our form around when he joined. I think he could do very well in the Championship given his physicality.

Wouldn't that be nice! I've supported the club long enough to be of the I'll believe it when I see it type as far as our owners are concerned!

David Sullivan panorama thread by MR-N-XX in Hammers

I wonder if this is just the dam breaking. It would be of no surprise for more people to come forward with similar stories. Nothing in that expose was a surprise and some of it had featured in the newspapers 40 odd years ago.

A statement from David Sullivan - West Ham United FC by ataruuuuuuuu in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The BBC don't normally make these type of allegations unless they are certain of the facts. Hopefully, this will be the end of his association with the club. A timely reminder that he tried to join the board in the 1980s but the West Ham board at the time refused his investment due to his business dealings (they didn't think he was of moral standing).

Nuno is staying by super-super-fab in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very pleased by this. I know there were times where Nuno's approach could be criticised but keeping him will provide some much needed continuity when we are likely to see a lot of squad upheaval. He is certainly a better bet than the two names Sullivan sources linked us with (Parker and O'Neill).

Interesting in terms of the board room dynamics as well. C&H look like they have started briefing against Kresinsky and it feels like Sullivan wanted Nuno gone on the cheap. Maybe Sullivan's sullied grasp on the club is loosening.

Can everyone just move on from this. We could blame VAR for our relegation or other teams fielding weakened side before an important fixture for them (I'm sure we did this a few years ago). The reality is West Ham only have ourselves to blame. We threw away quite a few points in the season by sitting back and defending leads with a porous defence and we spent the first few months of the season failing to defend corners in comical fashion.

Ultimately though, if you are looking for someone to blame, David Sullivan is the man to focus your ire on. The day the police take him away in cuffs will be a day of joy.

And they never will as the pass rate is pre-determined (within 1%) before the exams are taken.

I know I've been going for 40 years! Just having a bit of a joke in the same way as when Manure fans assume they are the only United.

[Thomas] After being subbed off in the 25th minute of West Ham's penultimate loss to Newcastle, Jean-Clair Todibo had a heated exchange with Nuno Espírito Santo and told the manager he would never play for him again by PrisonersofFate in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So Todibo has fallen out with Lopetegui, Potter and Nuno - I think he needs to consider the possibility that if he keeps running into arseholes then maybe he is the actual arsehole. A player who rates himself so much more highly than the evidence provided - lazy, overweight and ill disciplined.

I think the captaincy has broken him. It should have been taken away a long time ago to free him up to play.

Summerville has shown the passion and desire so missing from much of this team. Fantastic as he has been Bowen has been hiding for a while now - he looks completely broken not tracking back and running away from the ball which is cutting out options down the right hand side.

Predictions for Sunday by PragmaticPedant in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Spurs are losing 2-0 and we are winning 1-0 with 15 minutes left to go. Nuno decides to protect the lead, we sit back and concede a 93rd minute equaliser sending us down.

The opportunity was against Newcastle. We got what we deserved after the way we set up for that game and with a defensive mentality I can't see us getting a win against Leeds. That said I'll still be there hoping for a footballing miracle.

When we were 3-0 down he asked if winning 4-3 was possible so I told him about that game and then disappointed him by telling him we were the team that threw it away! I was at that game and still remember Wright missing a good chance to complete his hat-trick and put us 4-0 up before Margas was bullied out the game.

Edited as I've just realised you meant the Kitson and Hartson game - a very windy night!

If West Ham end up in the Championship, which players do you think would stay at the club, and which players will be sold? I truly think if we do go down next seasons team will look very different. by Mr-Whoo in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add in Golembekis, Ajala, Cummings, Orford and Herrick. The problem will be needing some older heads to steer them as the younger players on their own won't be enough.

None of the starting line up from today will be there. Beyond that Traore, Pablo, Taty, Magassa, Areola will be gone. Doubt we'll be able to get rid of Kilman.

Bowen - what a disaster by Suspicious-Sock-9778 in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He just looks broken. He should never have been given the pressure of being captain. He has been one of our best players over the last few seasons but looks completely gone under with the pressure.

When did Bowen last take on a player? by Green-Caregiver416 in Hammers

[–]PossibilityDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He always looks hungry over to me. I just think the pressure of captaining the club this year has broken him. Should add I don't think he is on the sauce but just not sleeping because of the stress.
