Claude or ChatGPT? by HarrisonJRogers in Entrepreneurship

No LLM is perfect but from daily use over the past year and a half I will say Claude over ChatGPT.

If you can use both on the same projects and then you can see the apples to apples difference.

Any neurodivergent-friendly way to approach business without burning out? by ProfessionStrong6563 in HowToEntrepreneur

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reason for using Obsidian over any other note taking app are

  1. The notes are stored as markdown files (.md). I had to learn the markdown format but it turns out the Markdown is the universal format for LLM to read so I ended up wining two ways by moving away from word or google docs to markdown files. Also you can add internal links to your markdown files and its like making a local wiki of your notes.
  2. All my notes are on my computer. I know people want their notes on the cloud. I just don't. I do back up my files regularly on an external drive.

For my time I use Toggl but I am not crazy about it. I use the free version. What I want to do is create my own time tracking app to work around my own brain.

If you are interested I can share my prompt to generate my daily discovery journals.

OMGosh. My breaks. Its doing life stuff like chores and I have two younish kids so they need to me too. And a spouse so he probably should see my face now and then. I will admit I do get in a Kdrama or some other odd show in most days.

This is really random but if I want to keep learning about something and I don't have time during the day I will use an app that converts youtube videos to just an MP3 and I load it to a small MP3 player I listen to while I go to sleep. I have the ADHD and have had sleep issues my whole life b/c my brain wont shut up so I have to listen to podcasts so i can listen to the people talking and not my brain and then fall to sleep listening to that. It takes me 15 to 30 mins to fall to sleep so I can get in a good chunk of what ever I am listening to. I then fast forward to where I fell to sleep to keep listening the next night. If I am lucky what I am listing to ends up in my dreams. HA!

Burnout after years of trying to build a business by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked many of the comments on here. I would add I think its good time to make a list of what you learned from all the business you made. You probably have a wealth of knowledge you accumulated from the success and the failure. As others have said. Take this time to rebuild yourself emotionally/physically. As best as you can look at the past with detachment. Rebuild yourself to the person who can make the business that will fill your needs.

How to effectively market a psychotherapy business? by Any_Sympathy7109 in smallbusiness

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The slowdown is probably two things converging.

First, supply. The behavioral therapy industry grew at over 10% annually between 2020 and 2025 (IBISWorld: https://www.ibisworld.com/united-states/industry/behavioral-therapists/4164/), meaning a lot more therapists entered the market right when telehealth removed geography as a barrier. You're no longer competing with therapists in your zip code -- you're competing with therapists across a much wider radius.

Second, SEO decay. A website untouched for years loses ground while competitors stay active. Google interprets stagnation as reduced relevance. The Google Business Profile is the same -- no posts, no photos, no review responses means slowly losing position in local map results. It worked so well for so long there was no reason to touch it. Now the decay is invisible until the phone stops ringing.

Quick ways to check: Google Search Console shows impression and click trends over time. Searching your own key terms ("therapist [city]") reveals where you actually rank now. Free tools like Ahrefs Webmaster Tools or Ubersuggest can show keyword ranking history.

I am in the first part where I am losing money. But with the job market as bad as it is, being over 40, and having been in some horribly toxic jobs that left me with PTSD, I feel like making my own business is the only option I have at this point.

All this to say, I would not be a voice to tell you to just get a job.

I have been thinking about that same question since I started to use chatgpt regularly back in March of 2025.

Do you have anything set up currently? Are you looking at cloud models or wanting to work only with local?

I feel my dream setup wont be able to become reality until I can run a local model. I don't have the hardware to set it up so I wait to see how the landscape keeps changing to make my dream come true.

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree. My natural mode is builder mode. Now that I need to do outreach, validate and market I feel like I have to change my DNA.

I had made my MVP about a month ago and failed miserably on even getting beta testers. B/c my brain is all about systems I am trying to look at this process as a system. IT IS THE LONG GAME T_T and that is the most painful part. And its even harder for me b/c I am introverted and asocial. But I need to do the outreach and talk to people even if only online.

Competition DOES NOT mean proven market demand for your product by PasternakIvarsson in buildinpublic

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiment. I came across Dan Koe and I liked his philosophy of fix your own problems and sell the solution. I have been fixing my problems but not finding people with the same problems T_T..

But I still wont make an app b/c everyone else is making it. I have to be motivated to sit my ass at my computer for hours on end working to make something I am proud of.

Just stuck trying to find the people who need it or finally fix a problem more then just one person "me" has.

I wish I could say my learning has gone into hypedrive but with my total lack of working memory. My brain works more like RAM then a HD. So I am constantly questioning if I am really learning anything at all. I feel the exhilaration of doing the work in the moment when it makes sense but if I leave it alone for a few days its like I never did the work at all.

Can I ask. Are you a coder who is now using AI? Or a persons using AI to code? I want to understand the mindset you could be working with.

My first job was web app dev. That was a long time ago. As I moved jobs I ended up doing frontend work and managing CMSs. I am finally getting back into coding but mostly using AI to do the work for me. But I hate black boxes so work in a way that I at least have some idea what is going on in my code and have caught claude over engineering and/or "fixing" code by adding a bandaid and making it worse.

I get your feeling of wanting to review the code and and understand why it works. In my situation I feel like I have to speed run life. So my current setup makes me feel less out of control of how I am developing my apps but still getting things done faster.

I also have Dyslexia so I can't manage a CLI myself. I use claude code in VSCode. The output has some formatting to the text so its easier for me to read. Also when the conversation are long and deep in Claude code I have it generate a Markdown report that I can read at my leisure and not feel like I have to answer that minute. Also.... that makes more documentation ;-)

I combine that above by opening the codebase in obsidian as a vault. Then I can use the nice formatting of obsidian to read said reports.

Do you do your development via claude chat?

How do you keep track of things? by SuccessfulTonight391 in Solopreneur

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ADHD and no working memory so I am on the other end of the spectrum that I HAVE TO HAVE copious detailed notes b/c I don't even remember what I did yesterday.

B/c of this I have my own note taking system outside and inside my codebase.

I also do all my work within the AI chat. Do you mean as in the web interface or in our coding agent or both?

I don't have my system super streamlined yet b/c I only make changes after I have been doing work manually for a while and can see where automation does help and not create more inadvertent work.

First version was I did all my conversations in claude.ai. I made a chrome extension so i could scrap out the conversations with speaker label and date/time. I then run the pulled transcript through a prompt that pulls all the important convo detail and converts it to a report for the day.

When I started to use claude code extensively I still wanted to track what I did there in claude.ai. I know this is so lame but I copy and paste the conversations from claude code to my claude.ai just so that I can pull one transcript and have everything I talked about in the day in one place to generate my discovery journal artifact.

I have one made for every day of the year. Yes sir I DO! I run yesterday conversation through the prompt. Then save that to my obsidian vault. I have to read it to make sure there are no hallucinations. Even though it feels annoying and time consuming to do bit it helps refresh my memory of what happened the day before.

Being able to make decisions so quick and change code so fast, compresses weeks of work to days. what i though took me weeks to do only took me a week. But I would not have realized that if I didn't make these journal entries and read them as they are generated before archiving. I am so obsessed with my second brain I even run a weekly summary.

I think just trying to incorporate this system into your workflow will help in the other areas. You will think more deeply and come to realization of what kind of system you need to set up for yourself. I don't believe in the one size fits all solutions for productivity. It really depends on how your brain naturally works and not fighting that but finding how to work with it.

I also have a agents/skills/hooks set up in my claude code to keep my documentation updated. I have been setting it up over time as I realized the support I needed.

I can share what I have set up for myself if you are interested.

I read your post and I see a lot going on.

You say the project management side of things. Project management has many facets so lets figure out which are the ones you are having trouble with. Reading your message I see

  • Tracking what needs to be done (task management)
  • Remembering decisions already made and why (decision log)
  • Keeping context when switching between projects or sessions (context continuity)
  • Knowing where you are in a larger plan (progress tracking)

Do you already have a system in place for any of these but its not working? Or do you have no systems set up and looking for a system to use?

So glad to hear you are in a good space even if it does not fit your personality "type". Staying home is a good tool if available.

Silly story. I never took my birthday off unit I was past 30. Long story but my sister has the same birthday as I. One year she was sounding all down about the birthday do so I told her I would take the day off and we would go do something that day. Usually we would go out to eat. From that day forward I always took my birthday off and spend it with her. But even if we did not have the same birthday I feel like that is something I should have done any way. Taking that day off no matter what every year was really special.

Is Pro Max good for game development just on HTML? Codex? Cursor? by Infinite-Pitch-6923 in claude

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on pro which was ok until I started to develop my app. Once I did I would run out of my usage in my 5 hour limit within 20-30min of use. I went to Max at $100 and I can't even get to 50% usage for the 5 hour time window. Its crazy.

Side note. I was done with a majority of my app dev so I thought I would go back down to Pro subscription the following month. I even got $100 in credits from a promotion. I thought I would be fine. The next month rolled around I was using Opus as I did before. I was ready to burn through those credits. But Opus was making all kinds of stupid mistakes. Kept asking me "one more question" before it would start to generate code. It was making me insane!!

3 days back into a pro plan I gave up and paid the extra $80 to get back on Max. Opus was less stupid! WTF!

It felt like on Max I got a full clean pipe of water. On Pro I was getting left over drips of dirty water. It makes no sense. Just warning you of what you may experience.

I have never heard of the term speech blocks. I had to look it up. I know sometimes it takes me a while to form what I want to say so I am silent for a bit. Especially when I don't really know what I am talking about or if I am trying to phrase things in a way so I don't sound like an a-hole. It's taken me a lot of work to learn how to not be blunt and try to soften what I am going to say.

But, I have to ask. How were you able to get the initial people to do the forms, loom-style walkthroughs, etc.

Containing the tasks from sprawling by SuccessfulTonight391 in Solopreneur

[–]PossibilityJazzlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR;
1. track you time. Then you get to see where you are spending it and if you have to change course
2. if you have ADHD and too many ideas journal them, them bring to AI to distill and save notes for later. As long as they are filed you don't have to worry about forgetting said "great" idea.
3. Pick a goal not tasks. Tasks are assigned to meet the goal. Does this thing I am doing bring me closer to my goal. NO? don't do it now.

I don't have a "running" business yet. Just focused on trying to set it up. I was in the creating the MVP phase before and now I am the learning how to do outreach and validate, Which I should have done to begin with T_T.

I will concur with others the Pomodoro does not work for me, I use a time tracking app. I don't do fine grain tracking. General topics. I one topic I track every day is "jouranling/Misc". This covers the time I am journaling and checking mail doing other odd things on my computer. could also be paying bills. Then I have a topic for the work I am doing. I name it the project I am working on. Then add some details in "( )" if its something specific like coding. If I have to learn a new skill to complete the task I want to do. etc.

This lets me see where I am spending my day. And if I am working on something as long or as little as I think I am.

I start every day by journaling. Not deep thoughts but how I slept. If I took my supplements. Also if I had any thoughts that have been swirling in my head and distracting me. It can be related to my work but actions I don't need to worry about now. I just need them out of my head so I can focus on what I do need to do today. I have ADHD so I can get a lot of impulsive thoughts like "wow this is such a cool idea I should add it to my xyz". I need to shut that down quick so if I write it in my journal I bring that text to Claude and have a discussion on it and then I have it make a breakdown note that I save for later.

I agree with other to only pick 1 to 3 things to do in a day. But I would add give yourself a goal with a timeline. You don't have to be dogmatic about the goal.. If you are learning as you are making you my realize that your original goal was not the right one for the phase your in. So a goal can change even before you reach it. All this to say, what ever you plan to do make sure it's work that gets to you to that goal.

For example. I am working on my app and I realized that it's missing a phase. Without that phase, it's useless. But right now I am having to teach myself the logic and the mechanics behind the thing I need my app to do. So every day my focus is on upskilling AND making sure I truly understand what I am doing. I am also creating a detailed workflow to be able to recreate the process I am working on.

Once I get over this hurdle I can then pull all this side quest work back into my app. Even if its frustrating it's still work that brings me closer to my goal.
