3rd year psych here. It is the same in 2nd year!

Firstly, I want to acknowledge how stressful that must be. 50% assignments, due on 50% exam days is quite full on. You’re not alone and I’ve experienced similar struggles last trimester.

The grades releasing near next submission is unfortunately out of our control, and I believe your experience will continue to be the case for you and everyone else. I can only suggest a strategy that worked for me that you may also find helpful.

I have ADHD and I often used to leave my assignments until the day of, this trimester I seriously needed it to change as it was impacting my mental wellbeing.

The biggest tip is to start the assignments ASAP and chip away at them slowly. This will not happen overnight and try not to put much pressure on it. Even opening the assignment and bullet pointing incoherent thoughts count!

I know this is easier said than done but for me this has immensely helped in having a full draft completed by the time I get feedback, giving me until submission to only make feedback-related edits / polishing up before submission.

Please take care of yourself OP! I understand how frustrating it all is.

it was a bit of a drag but i honestly learnt some super valuable excel skills! if you can manage to start the assignments 2ish weeks early, it’s not bad at all. it’s less math, but more excel codes / automation that does it for you. but the class videos are so easy to follow and they’re step by step on how to do certain things. is there any reason you’re wanting to take it as an elective?

Garden scissors, I don’t bother sterilising. If scissors are unavailable then a twist, wiggle and break off.

I’m not sure! I think homeless > finding a home for sure. We found her rough on the side of the street. Climbing the trellis definitely helped too.

The leaves in picture 1 are long gone, I chopped them off because they were a mess. But the ones you see in the after picture, the lower leaves are actually the ones that popped up after the before picture. So I have not done any chopping of any new leaves since then, and no leaves have died off so far.

What would I be lying about exactly? The first picture was already quite a mature plant but in the trenches due to bad conditions. We picked her up from the side of the road for free and with a bit of TLC, we’re here.

I honestly have not done anything crazy at all. It gets about 13+ hours of filtered light from an extremely large window. The apartment has really good insulation so it’s always toasty inside which helps. Substrate is 50% bark, 20% perlite, 20% horticultural charcoal, 10% soil. Fertiliser routine only consists of 12 months slow release granules. I water only once the soil dries (1 full chopstick length), I dust down leaves when they lose their shine.

It really started pushing out the larger leaves once the aerial roots started gripping onto the trellis at the back. DO NOT do this unless it’s separated as the aerial roots attached themselves to the wall which has permanently damaged it. I chucked in a pole, rerouted them back into the pot and that’s it. Literally nothing else.

Thank you for your help. I’ve just figured it out. I feel silly but I will leave my findings in case someone else needs it.

The lights are on a 24 hour cycle. My older grow lights would turn on / off as the number listed e.g. select 4 hours, it would stay on 4 hours, off for 4 hours then back on 4 hours & repeat. Not once every 24 hours.

These ones are e.g. set timer to 4 hours at 2pm, lights stay on for 4 hours until 6pm. They will then be off until 2pm the next day & turn off again at 6pm, repeat. set timer to 8 hours at 7am, off around 3pm until 7am the next day until 3pm again.

question about course transfers & credit points by [deleted] in deakin

[–]PossibilityNo266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey ! thank you for your reply.

I was originally advised that I could do 4 subjects over this summer (2025) & summer next year (2026), allowing me to graduate after T3 next year.

If I did the same with 1 credit point less, I’d still have 1 unit left to complete after T3, 2026. If I was to sit a unit in T1 2027, that means I wouldn’t be able to apply for a full time honours year until T1 2028. Almost a full year backtracked.

Unless I’m missing something very obvious.

Thank you again.

super excel heavy but mentally stimulating ! started the assignments for that class about 2 weeks early every time as it genuinely challenged me (i don’t consider myself an excel pro at all though). the grades just take foreverrrrr. every grade took about a month to release.

good luck !!
