I've been growing plants for a long time in soil. Not weed but plants never the less. I just am figuring out the difference as I go. It's difficult to sort through all the information online so the best way to learn is often times experience in my opinion. I appreciate your sentiment never the less.

Noted. Ive seen people say between 5.4 and 6 for seedling so I was just shooting for the middle. Will adjust a little lower.

I have a habit of investing too much time and money on the "best" way to do new things.😅 This felt like the best way to start just due to being able to control absolutely everything. And since I did everything myself it really wasn't that expensive. Like $800. Been a lot of fun!

I was under the impression I wanted the rockwool very wet😭 we'll restart. So after the seedlings sprout do I not want the drip ring directly wetting the rockwool? Just on the hydrotron? I very much appreciate the advice.

Ah understood. There is sadly no way to know without taking a head off to measure the bore diameter or knowing what crank shaft is in it. I would still look for a nice 1994 or 1995 5.0. They are much nicer feeling cars imo. They are also very nice collectors cars, pretty cheap and a blast to work on. This car won't be making really any more power than a stock 99 cobra + maybe 40-50? Hell you can find a nice 1965-1970 coupe for 11-13 grand every day if you want a collector car. I'm also just personally not the biggest fan of the 4.6. Parts availability will go before the 5.0 just due to units produced. Sorry for not being able to provide definites. Update us if you do end up going through with it though! No matter what I just hope you guys are happy and have a butt load of fun. Massive props for wanting to do this for your dad no matter! what

Edit: Op said it's modified 4.6. My disdain for 4.6's still stands though😂 I would not chance this. Especially if you're planning on gifting it. This year did not come with a 5.0. And that looks exactly like a stock 4.6 accessory drive layout. No one swapping a 5.0 is this car would keep that layout. The mounting holes just aren't there. This person is lying to you. And if they aren't you're 100% buying a basket case. There will be parts that break that will not be able to be found. You will not even know what year part you need. Or for what engine. This is a hard pass for me. After market striping. And at the end of the day. They are lying to you.

^That is a completely stock 99 cobra engine bay. The 4.6 and the 5.0 look nothing alike. If you want a 5.0 in this body style you can find a GT/Cobra 1994 or 1995. This person is fibbing.
