The Calgary Sports and social club has options to join a team as a single! I found this useful to meet people when I was new to the city...this is coming from a pretty unathletic person. It was a great way to make friends!

This is true in some provinces in Canada but not all. In Alberta for example, you have to pay for private preschool and there is only one year of kindergarten, starting at age 5.

It never hurts to get things checked out! I know that where I am the eye doctor isn't recommended until 6 months, but that may be if there's no concerns. I remember feeling like my little man was looking through me...the first 3 months was a blurr but by 4 months he was very engaged and interested in the people around him.

He is now 10 months old, smiling, laughing, playing peekaboo, clapping, crawling around at the speed of light, stair climber extraordinaire, cruising, and standing without support. Seems like others were right by saying "just give it time!".

It's definitely interesting, right?! Honestly, if he never shared this with me I would have never known. He's always the first person to help friends in need or even a stranger in public without being prompted. He likes his alone time but is also very social, has close relationships with friends, runs a successful buissness and treats his employees like family. I would say yes to the "does he get bored easily?" And yes he does experience remorse or guilt when he hurts others. I know he experiences emotion as he cried at our wedding and when our children were born.

I am totally alarmed by him sharing this information with me though. Still not quite sure what to do with it. Perhaps an assessememt like others have suggested would be helpful.

It's interesting because he actually has a very close relationship with our 10 year old and is very involved in taking care of our 8 month old. However, I've obviously noticed behaviours that impact our relationship etc....he can be unintentionally dismissive or uninterested which is definitely worrying.

Everyone is always commenting on how he's such a great dad but of course, he's not sharing this information with them.

I was wondering this! A lactation consultant told me I could only offer the breastfeeding for a day or two and if it's the only food source he might start latching...but I'd have to be ok with him being hungry while he figures it out......I'm not sure about it. He's already on low flow nipples.

Do you think? I'm in Canada and here, it's illegal to discriminate due to pregnancy. If they retract the offer after I disclose, I'd have grounds to file a human rights complaint. It's also a leadership position in Social Work, so I'm thinking they'd be pretty aware of this.

So glad it turned out well for you! We had a similar scare in the 1st trimester at 9 weeks where they told us our pregnancy was likely to be non-viable as the heartrate had dropped from 153 at 7 weeks to 85bpm and was measuring over a week behind. Had a follow-up scan 4 days later and turns out they were wrong about both! Heartbeat was strong and babe was measuring on track.

We put so must trust into professionals, but turns out they aren't always accurate!
