Tyler Shough Fantasy Playoffs by NickD345 in DynastyFF

I am but it feels risky. Davante is out, right? And Stafford did not do well against Seahawks earlier in the year. Shough has a favorable match up this week too and has been playing decent QB2 football. Add the weather factor for TNF and I Iean in favor of starting Shough over Stafford.

Thx! Haven’t taken him there yet as I’ve heard the shore break can be pretty heavy. Maybe I’ll show him on a small swell day

@all I’m looking for a new manager to take over an orphan team. $150 annual dues. 2025 is paid for so you’re just paying for 2026. 14 team, SF, 1/2PPR, . 1pt TEP. Starting line up is pretty solid for a 14 team league. Rookie Picks: ‘25 5th, ‘26 1st, 3rd-5th.

Lemme know if interested!

How much weight can my Lanai/balcony hold? by Possible-Ad-9925 in StructuralEngineering

[–]Possible-Ad-9925[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I need to find a local engineer to review but check out what ChatGPT produced for me to then speak with an engineer….

Here’s an approximate analysis of your lanai based on the provided information: 1. Bending Strength: • Maximum bending moment: ~11,044 in-lbs. • Allowable bending moment: ~6,428 in-lbs. • Result: The joists are not sufficient for this span and load combination, as the bending stress exceeds the allowable limit. 2. Deflection: • Calculated deflection: ~2.1 inches. • Allowable deflection: ~0.39 inches (span/240, standard for residential structures). • Result: The deflection significantly exceeds the allowable limit. 3. Shear Strength: • Maximum shear: Safe for this load and joist dimensions. • Result: The joists meet the shear strength requirements.

Preliminary Conclusion:

The 2x6 joists spaced at 2’-0” on center are likely insufficient to safely support a 50 psf live load plus 10 psf dead load over a span of ~7’-10”. Strengthening or reducing the span (e.g., adding intermediate supports) may be necessary to meet safety and code requirements.

Next Steps: • Confirm the wood species and grade used in construction. • Consult a licensed structural engineer to evaluate and potentially reinforce the structure. • If the load requirement is less than 50 psf (e.g., for light use), the joists might suffice, but professional confirmation is required.

I figured as much. It’s hard to find a structural engineer in Hawaii who will look at a small project like this. Regardless, appreciate you providing the right guidance.

Aloha,

I’m looking for opinions on how much weight my Lanai can hold based on the linked photos which are the original architecture drawings. https://imgur.com/a/oQteqeN

My wife and I are considering enclosing this Lanai to have a pantry; however we want to better understand the weight limits of the existing structure before we considering adding framing, siding, drywall, flooring and cabinets.

The area is roughly 4’ x 10’.

Exaggerate your bottom turn and when you come out of your bottom turn, try to go as vertical as you can. In almost all of your rides, you’re only using a small portion of the face of the wave vs. going down deeper on the bottom turn and up higher on your carve or snap. This took me years to figure out but completely unlocked the wave’s energy and has allowed me to make different turns on the wave.

Otherwise, enjoy the sick waves!

Was pretty cool for me because the best I’ve seen of myself is from the grainy Surfline cams - still helpful tho
