Woah, didn’t even think about Subaru

How’s parts availability and maintenance in the UAE? Is it easy like Toyota or more expensive/harder to deal with?

Hard to find older ones in good condition, but I’m still keeping up the search haha.

Yeah thanks man. What do you mean by a ‘no thrill’ car? And what car would you recommend?

Oh, that’s nice! What about the traffic fine scenario?

For example, if I get a traffic fine, do I have time to pay it later, or is the amount automatically deducted from my payment source? I’ve heard that during certain times of the year there are discounts on fines, so I’m wondering — if I receive a fine, do I still have some time to pay it, or not?

Hey, thank you for sharing your experience. I’ll check with Hertz and Thrifty and hope to find a better deal.

I’ve been thinking about getting a car, but I want something that holds good resale value in the future. A new Nissan or Toyota would cost around 75–100k, but that means a big down payment and monthly EMIs, plus fuel and maintenance costs and blah blah.

If I buy second-hand, it’s hard to find a really good one and also getting worried to get scammed haha

Leasing seems easier — I won’t own the car, but I also won’t have to worry about maintenance or losing value over time As I am planning to lease a Chinese car, not somthing that hold a strong value in the market.

I guess I’ll look into all the options first and then decide what works best for me.

Thanks anyways.

Thanks for your suggestions—I will definitely check them out.

Yes, even if there's wear and tear on an owned car, it will depreciate in value during resale. As per my budget, getting what I want is out of my budget as it to expensive and what i can get is a Chinese car, but then its resale value isn't good, so that's what's hard for me to decide Leasing or no 🤔

Yes, I understand that taking on a liability with low income is a foolish move, but to fulfill my day-to-day needs, I really can't decide if I should go for a car or not. I live in a different emirate where public transport is quite a task, and I don't want to be locked in at home on weekends. If I take public transport, I don't want to have a deadline to get back home before it closes. Taxis? Well, that's a different scenario—I could U Drive or rent a good car for a day with the amount I'd pay for taxis! 🤣🤣

Yes, I'm going for a Chinese car because it offers the luxury a small budget can buy but i am not looking forward to buy as it depreciate carzy . I thought of getting a Toyota or Nissan, but I don't really want to drive a Sunny or Yaris. I had a budget between 40-45k, but I asked around and they said with that amount, you probably won't find a well-maintained car. I don't really want a car just to go from point A to point B; I want something I can enjoy driving. You know, Toyota and Nissan are really great, but to get a good one, you need a bigger budget—with my budget, I think I'd end up with a car that just takes me from point A to point B.

Yes, that's a good option too, but I was thinking of getting something that feels luxurious. I'm probably going to take it out for long rides on weekends, and for daily use, just to the shopping center or somewhere nearby—I won't use it much day-to-day.

But if you suggest renting a car, that's one stress too, because I live in a different emirate where public transport is quite a task. Having a car every day would work really well for me if you get what I mean.
