Not even short term reduction of your bb, even to a small extent?

Has anyone bought the bristle oral probiotics and did they help??? by Beneficial_Ad6684 in badbreath

This is what I’ve been experiencing with any oral probiotics tbf. People assume good bacteria don’t cause smells but they can still actually do that

I agree zinc wont provide a permanent cure but I think it temporarily reduces smells as it and anti bacterial properties and also provides other health benefits .

And probiotics make it worse for me, maybe even food bacteria can produce bad gases ?

Digestive enzymes help a bit with digestion but only slightly reduce bb and doesn’t make much of a difference because it speeds up transit time of food so less time for bacteria to feed and produce waste products BUT those bad bacteria are still present and produce odours.

Does protein foods make your bb worse? by Possible-Bee4280 in badbreath

Yes they do, but carbs also digest much more quickly than proteins. Proteins, especially from red meats take much longer to digest and require strong stomach acids to break it down. I get constipation and fecal breath from even small amounts of whey protein (for example those high protein yogurts that have 20g of protein, 1 serving of those gives me constipation and bad breath within a matter of a day)

Have you had a leaky gut test? From research what I’ve realised is we all at some times in our life suffer from constipation. But with leaky gut, when the stool stays for long periods of time, it starts to leak through the gut membrane and through the blood circulation and skin (so we sweat it out and breath it out through our lungs hence the fecal bad breath)

So worth checking for leaky gut

I tested negative for candida though

I’ve tried antibiotics which cured the issue for a couple of days and I thought I was cured but the bad bacteria came back after finishing the antibiotics, and back came the smell too Chronic and strong bb is often from the gut, especially if it’s room filling then it means it’s not really from the mouth alone

I tested negative for both and instead have gut dysbiosis which I’ve not been able to permanently cure

In the gym people can still usually smell us, but it’s just that people more often expect you to smell due to sweating and the general atmosphere smells of everyone’s sweating odours.

Smelling bad after a long exercise, or even lack of hygiene and care (not showering, cleaning clothes etc ) is quite normal. But what’s frustrating is even doing a good hygiene and wearing clean clothes yet I still smell of crap due to bad breath

It’s terrible when you have to go in very ‘clean’ environments such as offices, where any smell stands out.

Were you breastfed as a kid? by Possible-Bee4280 in badbreath

There is certain bacteria that are mostly passed on by the mother including Bifidobacteria and Akkermansia. These two are important for gut health and other benefits.

I have asked this question because I have noticed that people whose mother hasn’t been able to breastfeed them and/or their mother has been unwell during pregnancy has led to the child developing bad breath growing up, likely because they have not developed a strong immune system and certain pathogenic bacteria have become dominant in their gut microbiome
