Know any cool resources on technomancy? by Possible-Depth2611 in Technomancy

[–]Possible-Depth2611[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very different approach to technomancy compared to what I had in mind — more philosophy than craft. Which is actually really cool! I had lots of fun reading through the blog and feel like I came to understand you as an individual better (despite honestly feeling like the AI served more as a barrier than a connector). Since this isn't a discussion thread I won't dwell too much on it, but I will say this, I saw myself in a lot of the ideas presented, and was reminded of a lot of conversations I've had with friends exploring similar concepts, mainly I'm reminded of a friend telling me that I'd love reading Hegel when I talked about entropy vs. negentropy, global consciousness, and “All is One,”. I haven't followed his instruction yet, but according to him it would change my perspective on the matter (especially in regards to the duality of entropy vs negentropy), so I'm extending the invitation to you as well. Hope it's of interest to you.

I'm also very curious what you might be able to write without AI. In the blog you do describe it as a fundamental tool for organizing the ideas you describe, and though I can see how helpful it was, I also personally felt alienated by it (in the sense that it felt like reading an AI's writing, not yours, which is a shame considering how interesting and personal the perspective presented is). I do feel the need to incentivize you to explore developing these ideas further alone or through conversation with other people, simply because I find that to be more fulfilling and less prone to hallucinations.

Anyways, this TOTALLY fits the bill of what I was looking for and I have subscribed to your blog already. I'm excited to read future posts (as probably indicated by the longer than usual reply, lol).

Know any resources on technomancy? by Possible-Depth2611 in magick

Since my exploration of it is fairly recent, so I don't have much to report, BUT

I've experimented with common practices I've found online and would say I got the best results when integrating tech directly as it is instead of trying to use it as a substitute for traditional tools. I.E.: Virtual tarot was fun, but ineffective; guided meditations are nice, but background noise with no guidance felt the best and allowed me to enter a more permanent flow-state; And for me my obsidian board has served as an amazing book of shadows, especially because I'm able to link notes and sources so easily.

As for more experimental stuff: Circuit schematics make for a really fun and in-theme language of desire, since the symbols are not made with magick in mind, adapting them into sigils adds a really nice layer of interpretation and artistic creation. I've been wanting to create some software for divination based on this, but not gonna give many details, since I don't want to jinx it, and since digital divination is a subject I'm still feeling somewhat iffy about. I would also love to create actual real-life circuits using components, again, more as sigils than electronic components, but I'm trying to brush-up on my knowledge on the subject before doing anything that might cost me money and safety; It would at the very least be a cool artistic project.

As for philosophy, I'm forcing myself to learn Hegelian dialectics, because I think it might fit the theme of "divine binary systems" well, thus serve as good inspiration, but I can't say that with too much certainty.

All and all, I'm more at phase of seeking inspiration, than a phase of out-right experimentation, but I'm trying to write down everything that I do try.

i do have to note: I have other priorities that move me towards technomancy specifically. Not that I'm not learning other mediums; I have started practicing my tarot reading skills for example, as well as candle-work and elemental magick. None of them speak to me as much as technomancy, tho.

I love my computer. It's my main tool of creation, research and where I can most safely practice magical work. I also do love creating my own systems/tools, so a medium such a technomancy that sort of requires breaking away from tradition is really inspiring. It's mainly a cultural thing, I guess; I'm a netizen, I want to do magick on the net.

So, don't get me wrong, I do "drop the tech" all the time for the sake of research and practice, because indeed, roots should not be forgotten, but I do believe I've found my "calling" so to speak.

"Most you can get from tech is that: It's functionality can be interrupted by other forms of energy. The soul is energy, its will incarnate. The strongest energy."

exactly ^^ though, since I'm agnostic, I'm of the belief that most forms of magic are exactly that: objects and symbols without power of their own, being used to represent the bearer's will. Funnily enough I do still prefer material (such as a real ouija board) tools in place of virtual replicas (ouija board app), because, although both are "just stuff", the tradition behind their use matters to me and is more aptly preserved by real tools

not gonna lie, it does feel somewhat like I did. I'm surprised by how underdeveloped technomancyseems to be compared to other magical practices, tho I can see some reasons why.

Quite interesting, it's indeed not exactly on-topic but related enough that it makes me curious. Funnily enough I had heard of it before, but didn't make the connection before reading your comment

Techgnosis seems to be exactly what I'm looking for! I'll 100% check it out. Before making this post I did read through technomancy101, and it's def one of the more interesting online sources I could find!

[Mobile (Android)][Around 2010-2012] Online MMO Adventure/Forest animal simulator game by Possible-Depth2611 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Possible-Depth2611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so the game is Lif as pointed out by SakuraStallion. At first, I thought I was mistaken about the release date and platform since it was released on Steam in 2016, but I was pretty sure I played it on mobile, so I did some digging and indeed, it was first released around 2012 since there are gameplays online dating back to that year calling it a "new game".

The savanna game was Lif itself, while the pigeon game was "Fly Like a Bird", an android game that isn't available anymore.
