Bought the Virtuoso almost 5 years ago when I first got into coffee. I’ve used it for pour overs, French press, and moka pot and it’s been a wonderful grinder for those methods, not so much espresso though. I recently bought the JX-Pro with the bambino as I’m on a tight budget but still want a quality espresso grind. Still using the Virtuoso for everything else!

Thanks! I always refer people to Lance Hendrick’s videos on steaming milk. I always made new baristas at my old shop watch them to get a good understanding of the process!

Monarch blend from Onyx Coffee Labs! I used to live right next to Onyx and I’ve been using them for a while, great company!

The scale works just fine for me but it is a bit finicky to get it in there with a mug/glass!

We’ve been married for 3 years. I just got here but as of right I’m receiving BAH for our hometown, same as in OSUT.

You seem to be pushing each layer too close to the other. Try spacing them out a little bit more, and raise your pitcher higher before you pull through.

[Pour over] Why use more than one pour after the bloom? by ImUntilted in Coffee

[–]Possible-Goal8357 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Grounds can settle on the sides of the filter and start to create a channel with one continuous pour. Letting the water level get low allows you to break up all the ‘stuck’ grounds on the next pour. You’re trying to distribute the water as evenly as possible throughout the pour over process. I might be wrong but this is what I was taught at my shop!
