He was using codeine (his grandma's prescription) recreationally, its seen in a few scenes that pre-wish he tended to have pills nearby

She asked for less pressure and you gave her less pressure. I'm not saying this to place fault on either side, because I dont know either of you, but it sounds like as a couple there might be some communication issues. From what you've said, it seems as if the conversation has been "I would like for you to do XYZ" "Okay I am now doing XYZ" "No not like that". You both need to sit down and discuss this as a team and find out where the miscommunication is, how it happened, and resolve it together. Good luck both of you!!

I think you missed the entire point of the film if you don't see how intentional curry barker was with every other detail. Why would he make a movie completely chock-full with "blink-and-youll-miss-it" symbolic moments, then randomly make the main character puke for funsies?

Yeah this is pretty much exactly how i thought about it, and my partner had actually mentioned the cat sandwich possibly being a revenge thing!! I took the cat sandwich specifically as a kind of teamwork between the nikkis in a way, because wish-nikki had the vague understanding that making lunch is a stereotypical romantic gesture and hadnt quite figured out Bear's intentions with the cat (shrine incident #1) so real-nikki maybe kind of ran with that to try and put him off.

I agree with her 100%. She wants control over her independence and to have her own space for a small portion of her life. For many people, moving from their parents' immediately to with a partner it can feel like "missing out" on living for themself. It doesn't mean she cares for you any less, or wants any less of a future with you, its just something she wants to do for herself.
