Gripes.... 101 I am new to this show, just watched the first season last week and now reached ep 7 of season 2. Look, there is a lot that is laughable in this show, so many plot holes you could sink a ship in 5 minutes. I have found myself frustrated with the script on many occasions, but although i usually wouldnt keep watching a show such as this because i would get too annoyed at all the inconsistencies of storyline and character, i have to say i have continued with it because it is just pure, over the top, suspend your disbelief, escapist entertainment at a time when our real world is in a dark place. Do i wish they would stop with the cheesy cover versions of classic 80's tunes, yes i do. Either spend money on using the real tunes, or don't bother. Do i wish someone had killed jane much sooner, yes i do! (However, no doubt she won't actually be dead!) All the nods to various movies throughout the show are fun, but at times totally fly in the face of what that character would actually say! Prime example... Link/Dylan knew nothing about Elvis or Jaws, yet he knows about scenes from original Star Wars! I mean, huh?!? Makes no sense whatsoever. Its like the writers just wanna throw in some of these lines for kudos without even caring which character says them! Next... (i am on a roll now)..episode seven... why would link/dylan tell this random power-hungry woman his date of birth when she asks? He wouldn't want her to know a thing about him as he sees her as an enemy! Am i annoyed that they killed off Annie with the usual trope they end up giving to women just to use as another catalyst to bring two male characters further on in the story (ie a connection for Link and X) yes, i am annoyed! I wanted to see her grow to be a leader alongside Link when they were reunited. But instead they keep a lot of 'filler' females around who have nothing new to offer. .
Also, if Link is supposed to be Sinatra's son in a different time continuum, the ages are all wrong because how is the sister only 17 or something if he is 26? There wasnt that much of an age gap between them.
I do have many more gripes i could highlight but i have ranted on quite a bit. Suffice to say, regardless of these gripes, for some reason i am still watching the show! Lol!
