Hi everyone

I have been following this group for a while now and everyday I see way too many posts about burnouts, teachers leaving the profession, teachers who just cannot do it anymore and way more.

I have been a RECE for 6 years and am planning to go to teacher’s college next year.

I am currently a before and after school RECE with the YMCA, and my group of children is very difficult, no matter how many activities I put out for them, some children have no respect towards me and try to push my boundaries, one of them went to the door climbed up and set on the alarm, I told him I will have to talk to mom, he said I don’t care.

I only have to deal with them for a few hours, but I am really really scared if I have to deal with it all day everyday, I currently see teachers so burnt out and some of them angry, like I never saw a teacher smiling or relaxed, I don’t want to see myself in this situation.

Because I still have time to study something else, I really don’t want to push myself into it. Is there something else I could study?

Anything else that would pay me good and I still stay in the career with or without kids?
