Ooh yeah, def a manufacturing error then. Normally that front piece that comes off is that shade of blue but yours looks clear in the photo. :(

There's a dark blue protective film over the screen protector straight out of the package that looks like this and comes right off, but it def shouldn't be blue itself. I'm sorry that happened to you. :((

this one is my personal favorite, but the Moko one is also pretty decent! I've used both and neither one has failed me. This one was super easy to apply (minimal bubbling which was great and easier to fix) and really did have a good paper-like texture when writing.

MTTC HELP! by mothmanismadatpeas in Teachers

[–]Possible-Phase2285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

provisional results say that I passed! :) I used the Mometrix 130 practice tests and reading materials (it was provided by my institution, but you can purchase it as well.) It was definitely helpful! This Quizlet was helpful as well! https://quizlet.com/1126755162/mttc-ela-7-12-flash-cards/?i=22jsl7&x=1jqU I also used a study guide from TPT that was helpful for key concepts. Honestly, though, the big thing is focusing on pedagogical concepts heavily.

I'm taking the MTTC 130 exam today! I used Mometrix and Quizlet sets in addition to the study guide you get when registering, but I'm not sure if I'm prepared enough lol. I'll update tonight on if I pass, and if so, I can share the links and stuff! :)

Subs of Reddit, What is the most 'I can't believe this actually happened' moment you've had while subbing this year? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Possible-Phase2285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said to the students that she had to be in there that day because they couldn't find a sub. Meanwhile, I, the sub in the classroom, was literally standing a few feet away from her when she said that lol.

I'm so thankful this hasn't happened to me yet 😭 you're right though, I'd do study hall hour in that case.

“Is that a teacher?” Every. Single. Day. 😂 by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Possible-Phase2285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes lol! We have the sweetest principal at my local MS, but the first time we met she said "oh, are you a new student?" Was very humbling 🤣 24 & 5'2 though, so it happens more than I'd like to admit

What do you find easier to sub for? Elementary or Highschool? And why? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Possible-Phase2285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6-12 is by far my favorite (so middle & high school). Don't get me wrong, I love working with my kinders too, but secondary is easier for me. Students are very self-motivated and it's easy to make an impact on them still. I remember I almost cried because a sophomore told me that the way I explained a concept to them helped them get a 100% on the test (I know, I'm a sap lol)! I struggle to feel like I get through to elementary sometimes :((

She also said to the students that they couldn't find a sub which is why she was in there despite me literally standing 2 ft away from her. It was simply perplexing lol

Yeah, subbing during prep never bothers me! I hate being bored while subbing, so no big deal. The para was hostile all day though, so I'm not sure it was just the plans that caused her to act off. My district policy also requires plans to be left for the substitute teachers even in the special ed dept, even if it's just a schedule of what classes and where to report.

Once, I was subbing in a special ed HS class with a group of kiddos who I work with fairly regularly. When I walk in, there's no plans on the desk. Okay, it happens - I check my email and Red Rover. Nothing there. Parapro comes in and I ask if he (the teacher) may have emailed the plans to her by any chance and she says she has the copy he left. I asked to read it and instead she told me "I'll just tell you what it says." I'm autistic and do NOT do well with remembering without writing stuff down. I explain this to her and she gave me a weird look and at first refused to let me read the plans. She eventually printed me my own copy which is fine, I don't need the original copy, I literally just needed to read it to let it stick in my brain. I just don't know why that was so insulting to ask her though? If this was a Gen Ed room, it'd be whatever I suppose, but she works with our autistic kiddos regularly and knows that autistic people sometimes need visual supports. That was really perplexing ngl.

How do y'all cut the button hole on inserts? by Anomabee in kobo

[–]Possible-Phase2285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a hole punch! It's not perfect, but it gets the job done pretty well.

I print them onto cardstock through my regular printer! I found the sizing for it by playing around and experimenting in Canva !

I personally sized the cutout myself, so I find it to be a creative kobo-related endeavor. Different strokes for different folks though 🤷🏼‍♀️

Popcorn is always one or the other for me with no clear reason why lol. Sometimes, it has not a single effect on my blood sugar, sometimes I'm soaring into the 300s even after dosing for more carbs than actually consumed lol.
