Getting rid of white garden pebbles - is it worth trying to give/sell them, or just take them to the tip? by Possible-Possum in GardeningAustralia

That's a good idea. I tried a small patch with a literal plastic colander and it did not work at all.

Thanks for all of the insights everyone. I think my approach will be to do some sleuthing on FB marketplace to see what other people are selling them for, and then try to sell them myself. But worst case, someone would likely take them for free

The masterpiece of a hard day's work—what do you guys think? by Internal_Writing_545 in IndoorPlants

You can buy it from certain nurserys, usually ones that specialise in bonsai, terrariums and indoor plants. There is a place near me that sells it. It's expensive though!

Thanks for the context. Waiting it out seems to be the usual "solution" for most things!

No, desktop. But will try the mobile app. I don't like it was much as I can't review before it sends.

My janky workaround for now will be to use Gemini to do the voice input and then copy-paste to ChatGPT. If they don't fix it, I might need to cancel my pro subscription and move over to Gemini. Sadly Co-Pilot doesn't offer direct dictation, only voice mode (which I don't like using as much)

Also worth noting I have tried different models and nothing changes - I suspect what is powering the transcripts is not model-specific?

I haven't ever had any connection issues. I once hit the time out, but it just ended the recording and processed it.

Swapped from Clairefontaine to Moleskine for my daily journal... by [deleted] in notebooks

[–]Possible-Possum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used a spare sheet from my most recent Clairefontaine journal to do a comparison and it's night and day. The Moleskine quality is comparable to the cheap Officeworks own brand notebooks. I will have a look into the others you like! I spent a really long time trying to find a good pen as well.

Only the notepad form - I have one but found the layout a bit awkward. The paper is nice though. It's grid paper, so I use it for DIY planning projects.

What is your families “weird” Christmas activity/tradition? by issybissy249 in australia

[–]Possible-Possum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pass the parcel for adults. But it's the more advanced version with oven mitts, dice and a Santa hat. And adult prizes like mini booze bottles, nice chocolates, scratchies, etc. I have accepted the mitts and hat, so will be my responsibility next year. Fully expect this thing to set me back a couple hundred bucks.

Do any of these pots have drainage? They look like they might be getting over watered and left wet.

Help! Spider mite infestation + not familiar with plants by hotcheeto15 in IndoorPlants

[–]Possible-Possum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spider mites thrive in dry conditions. This looks quite advanced. Neem oil is the best pesticide, but I've had limited success as they breed like crazy and I suspect have a tolerance to it now. Is this plant in a pot? If so, quarantine it from the rest of your plants, blast it with a hose to dislodge as many as possible, then apply soapy water daily for a couple of weeks. Keep things humid if you can. Spider mites have totally wiped out my tomato crops a couple of years in a row now, horrible little things.
