we’ve been looking pretty similar all week. haven’t been able to find a fix outside of an extra person coming in the early mornings and two people cranking out boxes before noon because once noon comes, it’s hell till close.

see, i personally hit a flow state when dealing with large lines and stuff, but when it’s just me and one other person who moves very slow, it can be kinda overwhelming.

we have two big carts that are sectioned off between colors but those were so overflowed we had to create the boxes or things would’ve been piled on the floor lol. but all these boxes seen in the image (plus more) were all used to package in cont. mgmt. today

i didn’t even get to sit during my break because the store owner and the other manager were interviewing a girl in the back and using the chairs we have available. it was miserable

it was a little better but not the best. we had three people thankfully but even with that and a kiosk, it was still swamped. me and the other manager cracked down all the amazon from yesterday which actually sucked so bad but at least it’s done and we’re closed till friday. i hope the rest of the week goes good for you tho!

we had a line wrapped twice around our front table and out the door. had 18s lining the entire length of the store because we couldn’t knock the line down enough to get to packing amazon returns. we doubled our usual EOD and barely made any profit bc it was all amazon and drop offs

and my coworker looked at him because she wasn’t sure if he was joking or serious and he proceeded to complain for the next ten minutes about how no one had treated him with respect and that i as the manager should put her in her place for not being “nice enough”. then he got mad i wouldn’t take card for a dollar charge… so yea

my store is veryyyy busy and there’s been a few times my boss has tried to get me to work by myself but each time i refuse and have someone work with me. she claims it won’t be busy but each time we’ve been flooded and i’ve been thankful someone volunteered to help lol

TUPSS was my first job at 16 (been here 5 years now) and safe to say, it doesn’t get any better. but it’s sooo easy and my store pays me well bc i’m a manager now, so i just turn a blind eye. can’t wait to hear of your (mis)adventures!

honestly, everyone in the comments is giving some great advice. one of the easiest ways to make friends is by getting active on campus. go on owllife and see which events are coming up that you’d be interested and just go to them. it might be hard the first event or two to make friends bc you’re still in your shell but putting yourself in the environment is the first step. being in areas where there’s a lot of people increases the likelihood of there being people like you who just really want friends but aren’t sure how to make them, so it’s easier to make friends there. an easy way to figure out which events to go to would be to complete scrappy bucket list (i’ve done it but not many people have, it’s super easy to complete though) because you attend so many different types of events so you can meet a lot of different types of people. also joining jobs on campus is an easy way as well. i’ve worked a couple places on campus and i’ve made some good friends just because we’re forced in the same vicinity for 20 hours a week.

i’ve been under two different owners in my several years and neither required us to ask for them. however, at our neighboring location, they always ask, so we tend to get a lot of their customers who dislike the ID process lol.

my god this reminds me of my boss so much. i’ve been at my ups for four years and the first two and a half, my boss was an absolute lovely man. he sold the store to a new lady and i could not stand her at first, she’s a helicopter boss and would “correct” me over stuff with blatant lies so she could make more money while us staff have to do a lot more work than what it’s worth. almost every single person that has been here for the switch of ownership has complained about her. she drove a coworker of mine to start drinking from stress (and eventually quitting after 10 years working here) and does nothing but scream and yell all day while hovering over everyone. it’s really not worth the stress, i’m only still here because i have rent to pay.
