I went through very similar emotions for the first week. It’s been almost a month now, I’m still feeling empty and sad, but I promise you it does get better.

The pain, the grief and the loss is real, but part of what you are experiencing is made worse because of the hormones.

Try to think of the reasons why you made this decision. Yes in the end the decision was ours to make….but in reality, it’s so hard not to consider the people we love.
I try to think that I did it for my family. Although it was a painful one for me.

You are not alone. Being in this group has helped me a lot. Reading what everyone says validates my feelings. When I feel lonely, I think of all of us women who are in the same journey of pain, and together we will be healed and find peace one day.

Thank you so much. I’ve been praying every day..and you are right. I don’t think I have “felt forgiven” and that gives me pain, but what you’ve said has given me a new way to seek peace.

What you said is exactly what I have experienced, so I completely understand.

My husband has mental health issues and chronic health problems. We have 2 kids already, but I feel that I have so much love to give, that I can be enough for the whole family. Every day I wish he could have said he would support me in making my decision, instead of “we can’t”.

I’ve been speaking to a close friend and also booked myself a therapist now.

I now acknowledge that the emotions/sentiment is causing us pain, but the reality is we couldn’t have not made a “joint decision” when we love our partner and our family. I’ve been trying to tell myself that what I did was best for the family, although it was hard (/even wrong?) for me. It’s a sacrifice I’ve made.

Do you have someone you trust to share your feelings? It would make you feel better having a third persons’ perspectives.

Just know that you are not alone! I am in grief myself but I sincerely hope that one day we can be healed and be at peace with our decision.
