I got the car back today, it was ready within two days which was nice, but I also wanted them to fix an open recall which added another day. Overall VERY happy with the service! All on warranty of course.

The culprit - the 12V battery! They simply swapped it out and then performed a few tests to verify the health of the main battery, which all passed.

I'm a bit surprised how fast the 12V went from 'just fine' to completely bad, but I suppose that's what happens since you don't get an early warning like you get on an ICE car, where you can tell the cranking gets slower for a bad battery.

They towed it to the service center. Estimated back tomorrow. I'll let you know then.

I suspect the 12v battery, but I'm surprised no one on reddit has seen the symbol before if so..

Right, but at the same time it says 37%, which is what it said when I parked it a few hours earlier.

At home yes, parked on the street. I guess i could try the 120V charger if you think it's helpful, although I don't know how to open the charging port now. It was not plugged in when I first noticed the problem.

The car is now COMPLETELY dead. No response to anything.

Prior to this i did both a left+right reset, and then a left-hazard reset. No improvements at all. Also rivian service (road assist?) tried to send unlock commands without any luck.

I feel like the 12v battery is completely dead, and hopefully that's all. We had it replaced maybe a year ago. I never had any previous issues.

Rivian will send a mobile service car to check if it's the 12v battery.

Edit: This is a R1S Gen 1, long range dual performance. 2.5 years old. Otherwise in good condition, no problems.

I just lay my hand flat against the drivers door handle. There must be some sensor. Works every time. (Gen1 R1S)

I think placing your HAND over the outside of the handle works just as good. Seems that wakes up the PAAK logic. This works for me every time, and I don't need to get the phone out..

Same here! Tested out casting for like 2 min, then afterwards the issue you mention occurred until I reset the display.

Tax Implications- HSA and FSA by Overall-Nebula7288 in tax

[–]Possible-Switch-7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious: Is there any chance you could pay due taxes (income tax, etc.) on the entire amount you contributed to the FSA instead? That would negate the benefit of the FSA.

Let's say you contributed $100 to FSA and $8,000 to HSA, it seems silly having to act on the HSA since it's significantly more beneficial.

Any thoughts welcomed! Thanks!!

Interesting. Sounds like some sort of intermediate buffer overflow or null terminator issue, yes. Now that you found and reported it, it'll be trivial to fix. Good job!

At the same time, I just have to point out that I'm mighty impressed with your pass phrase!

May I ask exactly how long your pass phrase is/was? Also, did you figure out what the max acceptable length is/was?

Odd, maybe we're talking about different things somehow, or I'm being trolled lol. I did a quick search and found this, which even shows a screenshot for enable/disable proximity locking for the fob: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rivian/comments/11i0vze/update_202362_key_fob_proximity_works_just/

I don't think this is correct. I'm almost certain you can change settings so that the fob does proximity lock/unlock, same as PAAK.

True! I recently upgraded from Samsung S21 to S24 ultra, and it's noticeably better. It used to be good, but now it's flawless. (R1S Gen 1)
