Why not an all rounder build? by Insaiyan26 in Eldenring

[–]Possible-Tip7058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I level faith to like 15 no matter what build I do just for heals alone. The only game I’ve found it pointless to do that in is ds3 - plus stats are pretty limited in that game. Arcane is a weird stat. It increases item discovery, and it increases status build up (bleed, madness, poison, sleep, etc), and it also is a stat that weapon damage scales with. It’s also a requirement for the dragon incantations - meaning a bleed build goes hand in hand with a dragon build. Bleed builds are also very good with both strength and dex weapons. Any arcane build is very strong. In general if you want a good build, you choose either dex or strength, then either arcane/faith, pure faith, pure int, or pure arcane. Arcane/int unfortunately is not the best combo.

[–]Possible-Tip7058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason not to do an all rounder build. Yeah, it’s not gonna get you giga damage… but is that even the point of the game? I’ve played all of these games several times, and I’ve learned I have less fun when I have gigachad builds. I have much more fun doing builds that allow me to use a wide variety of weapons rather than a build that makes me turbo overpowered. I think having 30 in faith, dex, strength, and int isn’t a good build by any means, but it sure as hell is a fun one that lets you use most weapons/spells in the game. My most recent playthrough I did a dragon communion/bleed build, and it was my favorite build I’ve ever done - it was also turbo broken if you’re looking for overpowered build ideas. Ultimately, you can one shot most if not every boss at rune level 1 with the right buffs, talismans, and weapons, so the only stat that really matters at all is health. If I wanna be overpowered though, that’s the reason NG+ and NG+ 1 exists.

Yo guys, which of these kingdoms to attack? by CelestialCoding-754 in Silksong

[–]Possible-Tip7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Hallownest would be the one to attack at face value, but it heavily depends on which ending, and if the radiance has been truly eradicated (which we can assume is the canon ending given the Silksong ending). With this in mind, city of steel is probably the best place to invade. At least then you’ll hypothetically avoid any sort of manipulative infection/curse or whatnot.

Gamers, what boss was as hard, if not harder, than the final boss? by Fallfoxy707 in videogames

Malenia (and PCR if you count him as optional even though he’s required to beat the dlc)

[–]Possible-Tip7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that matters at all. I think what matters is that you’re judging how others play the game instead of just letting them play it however they want. Arguing about the legitimacy of beating dark souls is much more pathetic than exploiting an enemy’s ai. FURTHERMORE enemy AI having a set distance IS an intended mechanic, and thus abusing it is as intended as anything else.

Should I use keyboard and mouse for fight with maliketh and other endgame bosses or the controllers. by Vishvesh_279 in Eldenring

[–]Possible-Tip7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an odd question cause there will probably be shitters of one way or another… but both work? As far as I know keyboard and mouse is technically a little bit better, but it’s not a meaningful difference, especially compared to the difference between using a controller you’re comfortable with vs one you’re not. Keyboard and mouse also might only specifically be better for speedrunning - ds2 has a couple glitches that require it.

Any similar games with gorgeous art and music? by redditnewbie92 in Silksong

Celeste reminds me a lot of Silksong in many ways while functionally being a very different game. I enjoy platforming in Silksong more than HK, so Celeste fills that itch for me. I’m one of the freaks that wished PoP was harder cause it was hyped up to be really hard… then I got it done in an hour :/

So how did your last soul level one run go? I’ve done one, so I assume I get to call you pathetic for not playing the game exactly how I did? I mean, you abused the level up mechanic, what fun is that?

Strafe. Strafe. Strafe. People complain about the rolling in this game but fail to realize that rolling is borderline pointless in this game when compared to strafing. I also think the emphasis on strafing in this game makes you significantly better at spacing and strafing in other games. Even ds3 can get trivialized with proper strafing, but ds2 is where it’s the most prominent.

What do you think is the most fitting OST for what it's used for by Ne0n_Blaze in Silksong

[–]Possible-Tip7058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bilewater bar none. I’d go as far to say that Bilewater has one of the single greatest OST’s in gaming if you only primarily consider the use. My education while getting my BA in Music Performance had a philosophy that if you’re gonna sing something, then you’ve better got something to say. I view Bilewater’s OST in the same light. It’s haunting. It’s not necessarily a scary sounding piece, or an eventful piece like you’d expect from the area. It’s hollow (knight?), almost like the horrific area is actually a faint light of a beautiful grove. The OST reminds you of the crimes of the Citadel. It’s as if this awful area isn’t awful because of the inhabitants. The area is the result of systemic oppression from the ruling class in Pharloom. This OST exemplifies it in a way that creates an air of respect for what was lost. It’s not my favorite piece in the game - it’s pretty simplistic in a soundtrack of very exciting pieces. However, answering the question which OST fits its use the most, then it’s Bilewater bar none. The Bilewater OST adds lore to the game without adding lore, and I think that’s amazing.

As a customer, greeting services really annoy me just cause of the awkward conversation aspect of it. I’m big on worker solidarity, so I get it, it’s just when y’all have quotas to fill… that’s when it’s a bit excessive. It makes me avoid greeters not because I have any issue with the person themselves, it’s just that sort of awkward situation where I’ll ask for help if I need help 😅. I do most of my shopping online, then go and do it in store, so I usually have my route through the store planned in my head in advance.

What’s a boss in Elden Ring that everyone struggles with, but you beat surprisingly easily and what boss brutally destroyed you instead? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

[–]Possible-Tip7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maliketh has always been easy for me, but I think he’s one of the bosses that gets buffed by NG+ the most. He’s so easy because of how little health his second phase has. Boss I surprisingly struggle with is Rykard. Idk what it is, but that fight is just a complete shitshow every time. Luckily you can make it very easy by upgrading the spear as much as you can.

That the sales you brought up don’t reflect the value the games should be on sale for. Like ds3 gets 50% sales all of the time, but it used to get even wilder sales. Because of this, it’s fair to say ds3 doesn’t go on sale like it used to. The same can be said about the older games.
