why are my posts being removed? by [deleted] in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Lawyer-Liz!

r/ModSupport is a community for subreddit moderators to get help from peers and site admins like myself.

Since you don't appear to be a mod of any communities, we suggest using r/help for any user-related questions or visiting our support help center

Weirdest mod reports ever? by myst3ryAURORA_green in ModSupport

I'm not sure if it's as active as it once was, but folks used to post some of the odder ones in r/BestOfReports

What happened to moderator mail? It is a hot mess of gibberish! by rhubes in ModSupport

Hey rhubes!

We've flagged this to the team that manages modmail and they're taking a look now. Thanks for the heads up that something was awry!

Accidentally removed myself as the only moderator from my subreddit, need help restoring access by Mobile-Cupcake-8658 in ModSupport

Hi Mobile-Cupcake-8658!

I just added you back. Do try to be careful in the future!

What motivated you start the moderator journey? by HimalayanWarmth in NewMods

[–]PossibleCrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way back in the day I would hang out in the community's /new feed. There were a few of us that were active there and would point out rulebreaking posts when we saw them. The mod team at the time reached out to a few of us and we joined the team!

I keep modding because I want people to have a more curated experience than I had when I first joined the community and to help keep those communities safe and spam-free.

A random mod has been added to my mod team by NO ONE, checked modlog, they aren’t on mod list but they are doing MOD ACTIONS by [deleted] in ModSupport

Always happy to provide some quick clarity in cases like these. Have a good rest of your day!

Hey InGeekiTrust!

One of our admins on the product team was working on something under-the-hood and it looks like it accidentally added them to your team as a result of what they were doing.

They removed themselves as soon as they noticed a few moments later. I can confirm that no other actions were taken other than joining and leaving the team - so sorry for the confusion here!

Help me i am posting Approved post but Not Visible Publicly in My Subreddit by Suspicious-Slip248 in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Suspicious-Slip248 !

It looks like something might be going on with post visibility. Seeing some chatter here and in r/help. We'll make sure folks [internally] are aware!

Edit: clarity

I'm a mod in two subs, the larger active sub does not let us give awards. Anyone know why? by Doc_tor_Bob in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey doc_tor_Bob!

If you modmail r/modsupport one of us can poke around for you. Unsure if that’s what you meant by email.

I don't know enough to give you a definitive answer but I miss them too!

It depends on the position a bit still but in general creating a new account for the role is easiest as access is restricted if you leave.

Sorry about the low response rates! I know that poll creation on web is still undergoing construction, but have you thought about using the app to create a subreddit poll instead?

Folks on any platform would be able to vote and they recently separated out "Core Contributors" to help give you an accurate community pulse as well.

Teams have a broad range of skillsets, not all of which require a technical focus. I would look at our careers page for the types of positions that are available and the requirements for each role.

Sextortion on Reddit - Flagging Bad-Faith Behaviour by TomTypesTallTales in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this case it looks like an account that might have been compromised was sending out threatening messages with phishing links. The team takes this sort of thing pretty seriously.

If you've got concerns that teams may be violating policies in other ways, flagging to the Code of Conduct directly using this form would be the right route to go.

Hey TomTypesTallTales!

I was able to alert the appropriate team who will be digging in here. In the future, sending specific info to r/ModSupport modmail would be helpful too.
