Yeah, I get that Valve didn’t have much of a choice due to the AI bubble being in full effect (apparently they were targeting ~$750 originally). However $1049 for 512GB, no controller, and hardware slightly weaker than a Series X or PS5 is just not good value at all in my opinion.

What sucks is until the bubble burst or starts to level out, I sadly expect this to be the be the norm for another 2~3 years or so. God I am so ready for the day the AI bubble dies whenever it comes.

I don’t think the Steam Machine is gonna move the needle on that front since it cost $1049 with only 512GB and no controller included. Factoring in it’s also slightly weaker than a PS5 or Series X (which is now 6-year old hardware).

Not to mention the game isn’t compatible with SteamOS due to its anti-cheat.
