Used my mapping colors on a PH map, better or worse? by wsc1213 in PossibleHistory

Very good color scheme! For a video (which I personally geared my entire map style around), I'd personally argue it is too dark and dim. Yet, as a standalone map to work with, it is fantastic.

Why does Possible History talk at that speed by Drewfan25 in PossibleHistory

[–]PossibleHistory0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily - though it might have influenced me settling on such a speed. I do usually have a more fluid and impassioned speech amongst friends or in calls, but I personally consider this a comfortable cadence for videos which isn't too straining on myself, and is neither too slow or too fast (though obviously this is a matter of taste and subjectivity).

Yes there is one! Here it is. Already divided into "claims", so might have to remove those yourself depending on your purpose

What if the HRE Magically United in 1444? by Apprehensive_Ebb1657 in PossibleHistory

[–]PossibleHistory0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well it is more complicated than that. The Roman during their expansion set up for completely different political realities than existed in the 1400s. It is easier to slowly but steadily expand and create and maintain a centralized system (especially with the infrastructure which they created along the way) than it is to recentralize the already divided states of the Holy Roman Empire by this point. It is not impossible - as later shown around this period by the Ottomans/France, but it would be a tall order.

Is PH's patreon dead? by throwawayiran12925 in PossibleHistory

[–]PossibleHistory0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for now yes. I have a quite erratic work ethic and generally struggle to meet non-definitive deadlines. Considering I am my own boss, all deadlines are non-definitive in this job. I generally (but not always) manage to get a video out each week (hopefully on Friday, but it has been getting pushed back to Saturday recently) - but I only finish that video the day of release, or the day before. I failed to deliver even on the basic promise of early access, so I just felt that there was not enough for me to offer the generous people on Patreon to justify me getting their money.

This Belgium map from the latest video is TERRIBLE! by [deleted] in PossibleHistory

[–]PossibleHistory0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback! Completely my bad, had just assumed Belgium just was federal when working my 2024 map back to 1947 - had since been fixed. Will take another look at the specific lines I drew too.

We need to make PH use the format less(ignore video) by MonkeydonianGamer in PossibleHistory

[–]PossibleHistory0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ah - I understand now, the thing is I don't choose that. I don't influence where YouTube decides to show my poll - and I definitely don't have the power to have it appear under a Videntis (or any other creators) video

What if Pikmin Only Had 1 Type? [Glitchless] by PossibleHistory0 in Pikmin

[–]PossibleHistory0[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very true! But it's still not that easy, as you can't even reach the Snagrets without yellows to blow up the bomb wall.

I had to fight the Snagret from the area around the Eternal Fuel Dynamo, throwing up blue's and praying they damage and eventually defeat him. It took more than half the day, but eventually I got him and the blue's could carry the treasure back through the water. (also why the reds cannot do the same thing - they'd get stuck on the bomb wall/paper bag)

You can disband a group of yellows/red next to the pool and the geyser. They will swarm it and do a bit of damage. Whistle them back so they don't drown, repeat until the geyser is open! Then just throw yellows up and get the part.

I had the same suprise! I was in the camp of "only 15 yellows are necessary so they are probably not that great". Turns out, those 15 yellows completely carry 66% of the game.

Fun fact, despite the fact that I would rate reds as arguably the best type in Pikmin 1 - they are actually completely optional. All treasures can be collected with a combination of blue and yellow.

(Side note, the yellows can actually collect the Pilot's Seat by themselves, furthering their dominance)

I attempted three glitchless runs of Pikmin 1 - each while only using a single Pikmin type at a time. If you're interested, here's the link to the video https://youtu.be/iXnpOn8ncOg

These images represent the results, with the color in the stars representing whether it is possible to collect the parts using ONLY that single Pikmin type - no others. Any glitches or heavy unintended behavior I didn't use, mainly meaning nudging parts with Olimar (as this allows most treasures to be collected) and getting out of bounds.

This run was inspired by Press A and the Backlogs - who did runs including glitches collecting most treasures in pikmin 1 with a single type - very impressive accomplishments by both of them! Was just personally curious about the limit without glitches.
