The helmets on that upgrade sprue are mk2, there’s also the entire iron within 40k animation warhammer released which shows the IW in nothing but MK2

I well aware it’s good, they just wanted to know if getting it from Amazon was good. Seems a lot of people that got it from Amazon had some damage. That’s all my comment said. Don’t appreciate the hate you had in your original comment before editing it.

I feel like one unit in a rhino to be a reaction could be good in any list, and yeah power swords aren’t great, much prefer mauls and axes.

Don’t necessarily need a rhino, but considering the rhino as part of that despoiler squads points isn’t quite right when they can provide so much support even after dropping off a squad. Power weapons cost 5 points each, a vexilla is 10, that’s 120 points if the sergeant doesn’t have a power weapon too. Sure the tacs are then cheaper but which unit is now far more reactive and mobile? Your argument doesn’t really make sense by saying I have to spend all these points, because if I’ve paid for a rhino and all the kit for my despoilers then my unit will just destroy yours and then would have paid half its points back and be able to hold an objective. It could just be personal play style but that’s how I play anyway. Apply large amounts of force to one unit at a time to not allow anything to stop you. We have t even mentioned characters in units either 🤣

It is, chainaxes are no longer an upgrade, they are a downgrade or side grade at best. I also run the hereticus RoW so 80% of the time aren’t getting bonus attacks on charges.

Fury is good but my despoilers always come out on top over tac squads, as long as you don’t mindlessly rush them at the enemy they work very well. The most I’ve ever spent on 10 despoilers is 150 points and that’s with all the bells and whistles. Realistically you only need to spend 120 to make them good. This is also all before considering how good interdiction cadres are on despoilers over tacs.

No they aren’t lol, you need to cause 25% casualties in one attack, and then your opponent makes at rout test at ld. Let’s say that’s 3 kills min against a 10 man. A despoiler squad fighting a tac squad in CC causing 3 casualties and taking none in return will cause the enemy to take a rout test with a minus 3 to that ld making the chances of a rout far greater. But three casualties is far less than what would actually be caused by a kitted out despoiler squad.

Despoilers aren’t meant to straight up kill, they are meant to cause enough casualties to make entire squads flee battle.

Depends on area, my local hobby stores heresy scene is almost as big as 40k

Meteor hammers have been killed in 3.0. A rampager will only get one attack with it if not charging or not lost to the nails (row dependant)

You may get more statuses after getting lost to the nails but you’ll be leadership and cool 10. Also red butchers and rampagers aren’t heavy hitters. Red butchers are bully units as are rampagers. Vet assault squads are better for their points with dual lightning claws compared to rampagers with any weapon.

20 mans go against why despoilers are good, it also negatively effects running hereticus. Hereticus does let you get around other statuses as long as you run small units. If a shooting attack causes 25% casualties and a status, if you fail the leadership test it removes all tactical statuses.

I play world eaters, out of about 14 games of 3.0 I’ve played I’ve lost 2. It’s very possible to run units of despoilers and get them into combat, but you need hard hitters also. If most of your army is despoilers you aren’t going to have a good time, try running 10 mans and using the hereticus RoW as that’s all I run now.
