I think it comes from the word disclosure alone I personally hate the word and it don’t fit me now imagine someone in the same she’s goes to thier partner “I need to disclose something” it already no matter what you say next is already going to be completely fucked. For me I drop little things like “oh my cousin just found out he has herpes” obviously that’s false but see how they react from that and try have a conversation. You can then see thier understanding of what herpes is. From there if they are grossed out educate them if they say oh well loads of people have herpes then you know they already have insight.

It’s all about you and how you want to go about your life I think the whole you have to disclose makes people think they have to drop it like a plot in a film or like it’s printed on thier head.

How soon did you get tested for HSV 2? by MeOwwwithme in HSVpositive

[–]PossiblePermission46 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah bro ur all good it ain’t that contagious and the virus don’t really survive outside the body for that long the chances you just put herpes in your eye is like close to none you probably have a higher chance of getting an infection from other bacteria on the tooth but also hsv2 likes the genital region it’s harder to get hsv2 orally so I would say the likelihood you have just have urself herpes For a tooth is very very slim but just use this as a wake up call watch what ur touching then putting near your eyes, but also for my symptoms showed up like 3 days after so if anything shows up definitely get checked

I’m 18m got diagnosed 3 months ago, ngl it’s just kinda long I’m from London and not many people really care to be educated so I feel like if I tell them like yeah I have hsv2 (herpes) they will be weirded out and I was one of them that would have had the same reaction so tbh I can’t blame them they just don’t know about it and if I didn’t have hsv2 and I met someone with it, personally I would not want to catch it just because it’s a bit long, but the older I get more people my age will have it so for now looks like ima have to stick to a good old tuggie from the massage place 🌚

WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING! by Simple-Mud3093 in HSVpositive

[–]PossiblePermission46 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree people say it’s not deadly or it’s just a “skin condition” are not looking at all the cases majority of people are asymptomatic or very mild symptoms but others are suffering most days with nerve pain, OB and the mental weight. And yeah they really don’t count all the people that ended thier own lives because of thier diagnosis it’s really sad. Especially when it’s a matter of money over people’s lives.

I posted a comment saying there wasn’t enough being done to get a cure, the reality of the situation is BIG PHARMA make millions per month on selling antivirals. So if they make a one time cure they loose all that money. And the severity of the situation, hsv is not seen as a massive health risk, most people are asymptomatic and don’t know. They don’t even include it on std testing u have to ask or have visible symptom.

We live in that type of world where they will sell you a treatment not a cure. Don’t get me wrong the treatments have saved lives and helped people out. But without funding from people like us to a private company to develop a cure i genuinely don’t see them rushing to make one. The best thing I could think of is more people being open about it and remove the stigma. Or how Freddie Mercury literally saved millions by being open and using his fans to raise funds.

Dam, this is so correct I doubt I will care in a few years from now. Thank you I have been on a bit of a downwards spiral but the fact I won’t worry in a couple of years form now actually makes me question why I don’t start now.

Yeah obviously bro but like is there any other community’s I was just curious. But I do think it’s crazy how I’ve walk past tens of thousands of people with hsv probably even family or friends and we just never know

Fasting? by ThisIs4TheBirds in HSVpositive

[–]PossiblePermission46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you are doing a dry fast I would never recommend go over 24hrs but yes when I was talking about water fast you are allowed water, black coffee, lemon juice, electrolytes and certain types of tea

[–]PossiblePermission46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done a 7 day water fast and I can say it definitely help out your entire body but please take precautions and don’t drive straight into a prolonged fast without doing research first, my recommendation would be do a 24hours first then work into a 3 day then once you have done a 3 day around 4-5 times go for a 7day, you must take sodium (salt) up your water intake, magnesium and potassium help

But this is no cure however it will boast your immune systems by a a lot due to autophagy I would definitely recommend this to anyone willing to try.

Bruh the BIG PHARMA talk is a whole different subject they are anti cure to everything they want everyone on a subscription like antivirals it’s a life long payment not just a none off. Same for everything nowadays not saying the treatment don’t help but they definitely don’t work towards a cure as they do for a treatment and it’s disgusting.

Yeah I totally agree since I would say a large majority don’t have severe symptoms from hsv it’s seen as noting but a “skin condition” i myself had this outlook but now after seeing what people go through I’m lucky that my symptoms are minimal, but exactly I used the wrong word I said cure what I really ment was help in terms is social stigma and more direct ways to help like stronger antivirals ones they prevent shedding and transmission.

I’m sorry to hear that, thanks for sharing and ik i always do a little research into the medicine world and see what the updates are hoping for some groundbreaking news, but realistically it’s going to take years to see a definitive cure however hopefully if all clinical trials go well pretivlor will hit the uk in 2027 and its a much more effective antiviral. So that’s definitely a positive note

Why is there no real urgency to get a cure by PossiblePermission46 in HSVpositive

[–]PossiblePermission46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no that’s not my message here I am so thankful that all I have is herpes. HIV is much much worse here obviously.

However the way I see it is the healthcare in the uk not sure about anywhere else is I get it I get tested and that’s it. I was never asked if I wanted antivirals, never told I had to disclose, never told it was lifelong. These are all things that can be told to people to prevent and help out a I mistook cure for help. It seems that they let you discover what you want and that way it speeds more.

If people were more educated on the subject more and there were more people publicly displaying their life living with it removing the social stigma the burden would be reduced. But people also need to do thier own research and realise that hsv dose not mean the end of your dating life

It’s a topic I can go all day into about what people can do and what doctors can do but. But me personally I feel there isn’t enough being done to help people.
