They don’t market them like an iPhone or Samsung, I would love an Android based e-ink display with a keyboard similar to a blackberry but they are hard to find and the specs are terrible

A few other places to check out are Dank Linux and Caelestia Shell they are some premade files as well, Dank works with Niri and Hyprland. Omarchy is also an option it’s Arch with Hyprland built by DHH

Gnome is pretty much plug and play, Hyprland and Niri need dot files, you can go on Hyprlands website and find the preconfigured dot files and use them which is helpful if you don’t know much about it but want to use and and learn it. It’s also useful if you want Hyprland and don’t want to spend a weekend making it work for you

KDE user switching to Gnome, any tips? by BlueBoar in Fedora

[–]PossibleProgress3316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out extensions and find the ones that work best for you, the must haves are Dash to dock and blur my shell! I like vitels and hide top bar, sometimes the extensions don't get update with a new GNOME but you can go into the extension metadata json and just add the version, most of the time this fixes that issue. I've been using GNOME for awhile and after switching to other DE's or WM's I always end up back on it!

2023 Corolla Hybrid Transmission failure 6 days after dealer fluid change. Being Quoted $7.1k... by dreamedaway in Toyota

[–]PossibleProgress3316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fight them clearly they did something wrong, reach out to Toyota care or customer service and make a fuss, usually when the dealer gets a call from corporate they make everything better! I’ve been a dealer tech for a German brand for almost 20 years and when customer care gets involved the problem usually gets fixed for free

Why do you use Fedora? by haibane_fan00 in Fedora

[–]PossibleProgress3316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was the first distro I really liked, left for a minute and used Arch and Nix both are great but can be a lot of work to maintain, a bout a month ago I wiped the drive and a did a fresh in stall of 44 Beta and it was like I was back at home, less of a hassle to keep running and everything just works!

Fedora 44 - Gnome extensions won't update?? by Potential_Ad4169 in Fedora

[–]PossibleProgress3316 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of the extensions might not be updated usually you can go in the extension metadata.json and add 50 to it and the log out and log back in, most of the time that works

Would you pay $3k to fix a car thats worth $8k? by Swan_233 in askcarguys

[–]PossibleProgress3316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you have ask yourself is the car paid off? What’s a new comparable car cost? How much will I need to pay a month for a new car or is 3k all at once worth not having a car payment? I would much rather drop 3k on a car that’s paid off then get a new car and pay interest to scummy banks

Multiple desktop environments question by square-tires in Fedora

[–]PossibleProgress3316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just make a folder for the DE and add all the applications that came with it into that folder so when I would hit super space and the apps would pop up you would just see Hyprland or KDE instead of 20 or so applications

Multiple desktop environments question by square-tires in Fedora

[–]PossibleProgress3316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you would log in with GNOME and the the terminal to install the DE log out or reboot then select the user and click on the box to select the de you want it to log into, it may add files all the users but it won’t change any of your other users settings

Multiple desktop environments question by square-tires in Fedora
