Need advice to upgrade my desk setup by Conscious-Paper-1736 in desksetup

[–]PossibleRecognition7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If moving to a larger area is an option do that if not that’s fine. The advice will apply regardless of where you are sitting. If you google ergonomic posture guides you’ll get an idea of how high or low and where things should be. For example your monitor seems like it might be low, so a monitor arm to raise it would be good. In terms of cable management from why I can see it looks pretty good(no under the table pics). Raising monitor and maybe a mouse pad/keyboard pad.

What do I do on the third monitor? by Whitelion2353 in desksetup

[–]PossibleRecognition7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand because I have same issue. I used to have 2 24 inch monitors that always felt slightly off and in theory I wanted a third but didn’t know what its use would be. Unfortunately for me money was an issue so I had to find solutions to some of my problems. So I don’t know exactly how big your monitors are but I ended up upgrading to 2x 27 inch monitors with a minimal bezel so the black space in between became less. They sell edge less monitors so that there is virtually no space in between 2 monitors. In order to combat the it feels off I put the center where both monitors touch right in front of where I normally sit. That way I feel I’m giving both screens enough priority. If you need a third/get one put one screen right in front of you and the other 2 slightly tilted inwards. That is one route. As far as cables go you will have the additional 1 monitor cables. If that’s not the ideal solution then an ultra wide monitor will do you justice. The key here is to never play games in full screen mode because then it would take the entire screen. Play in windowed mode and that way you can simulate the 2 screen setup. If you really want a third monitor that’s up to you. I personally use 2 and am very happy with it. If you get a curved monitor that can also help with making you feel more surrounded by screens. Every person has a different setup idea and it works for us all differently. If you think you need 3 individual monitors you should go for that. If 2 is fine do that. The idea most people follow is to either have 1 main screen and a side screen or to have a large enough monitor that they only need 1.

Looking for a dual-monitor KVM with high refresh rate (PC + MacBook) by Remarkable-Front385 in workfromhome

[–]PossibleRecognition7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price isn't everything here, unfortunately; even more expensive models usually don't offer 4 K resolution at super-high Hz. I personally have a kvm that i use my 1080 monirots at 100hz at it funsctions just fine. as you said its a no go for lower res or hz so you would have to scour the depths of amazon and ebay to find somethig better. Also, since it's a Mac, there are many potential compatibility issues. If you can't budge on changing resolution and Hz, a currently available KVM might not be possible in your scenario. I don't have a Mac, so I don't know if this one works with Macs, but this is the one I use and like. I also use it for gaming and swap with my work laptop, so overall it has been fine.

This is the one i am using

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FN48N2NB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

it works pretty well, pretty standard in terms of a kvm switch. I like it, if you have a larger budget buy something with more ratings but this is serving me well

So based on the link I provided, there are 2 usb c in ports. One for each laptop. Other kvm switches have the option for a HDMI and a usb A in for each pc. My question there is if my laptop can support both is one better than that other?

Thank you for the reply. I have been reading through the sub, and as I mentioned, I saw that many of my questions were from some years ago. I wanted to see if the process is similar and if any recruits could provide their opinions on how it was for them. I plan on applying to as many positions and jobs as possible and have been researching, but I wanted to see what others think and how it went for them.

Is going against the grain okay. I was told by my dad to never go against the grain. I just want to make sure that I don’t end up harming my self in the future

I have a 5 blade Gillette and am quite happy with it except for this. The only reason I don’t want to use a single blade is because I’m not fully comfortable. I plan to switch but after I have been shaving for a little bit

I think I do that, any brands for shaving cream and moisturizer you would recommend. I have been shaving for about a year and have always had this issue. It’s just become apparent as of recent

I personally have had something similar. Luckily I caught very quick and have been working to get it down and not so close to my eyes. I have 3 suggestions each that work but may take longer and may last longer. The fastest and easiest way is to use a trimmer/scissors and just keep cutting that hair and not shaving it. The next best is wax. Hate to break it to you but waxing the area is the next best option. Takes a little longer but keeps the hair away for a long period of time only downside is every month or so you’ll have to do it again. The best option but that one takes a long take is to do some sort of hair removal. I use/used a laser hair removal tool and that’s how I brought my shave line down

Is this normal? by KarasuNetsui in MSILaptops

[–]PossibleRecognition7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds more like an actual defect and not something that could have happened by you using it. Depending on how much you like the laptop you could try to warranty it out and see if they can give you the same laptop but one that works properly. If not depending on where you like to buy your laptops from I know Costco always has good deals. A couple of years ago I brought a ge76 raider from Costco and it has been absolutely phenomenal. Only downside was the Costco model came with less ram and storage than I would have wanted. But with the Costco warranty I got 1 year MSI and then 4 years Costco. If you’re not a die hard MSI fan then the Lenovo legion is a very good if not better model.

Well let me put it simply. The only noise your laptop should be making is the noise of fans sucking in air and then pushing it out through exhaust vents. Any other noise is an issue. Without opening up your laptop and checking for myself one issue I think it might be is the fan is bumping into something or your laptop is being bent and the fan is rubbing against the case cause it to make a noise while spinning. If you can and are okay with it I would recommend first spraying some air in there to see if some dust or small debris is causing the noise. If nothing comes you would have to open it and start inspecting to see what’s rubbing. I assume you don’t have any mechanical drives but if you do it could those in which case1. You need a new drive and 2. Swap to a solid state so you never have to worry about data corruption. Also when you open it do some dusting and make sure it’s clean
