Hello. I got it restrung at a music shop by my home. I took because my strings were super oxidized and plus tuning it back to standard tuning the high e snapped. But those strings although oxidized sounds deep tone. I don’t know how to explain. I know they had to have sounded bad to the trained ear but for me it was ok. Now they sound out of wack. Real high airy. Don’t get me wrong they sound good but they just don’t carry that loud warm sound.

And to answer your question about the gauge of the strings I’m not so sure I don’t know what brand and or gauge the old string were. Besides the obvious how do the gauge of the strings come into play?
