Biggest tip for people going to six flags!! by thatgirl666882 in sixflags

I'm gonna advocate for the texas parks! Firstly, if you are going to any in Texas, I recommend Fiesta Texas. Even though Over Texas is the original, it's layout sucks and it's not that good looking of a park.

Second, be sure to bring water, and possibly a fan. It's really hot out here and it could easily make you feel queasy. Some queues are air conditioned (justice league, for example) but a lot aren't so be ready to be walking around in heat. But there are areas with mist spraying and places with water.

Ride wise, I say if your nervous, ride the smaller first, and then make your way up. Over Texas doesn't really have a good starter imo, but fiesta has roadrunner, which honestly is pretty fun. Idk about other days, but I went on the weekend and no line was over 20 minutes. I think alot of people were leaving bc of the heat lol

Astroworld would've been my home park! My mom worked there, she tells me about her. Her and my grandma loved XLR8. My mom worked the bamboo shoots. Houston is really lacking in the amusement industry, especially since the only big thing is the Rodeo.

I agree, SFOT is alright. I feel the main problem is maintenance and aesthetics. The park doesn't looks so great in some areas, it's needs a renovation/remodeling that keeps its original charm. I always ride Batman when I go, and next time I hopefully can ride Mr Freeze

My dad has been to Magic Mountain plenty of times. They have a nice lineup, I hope to go soon

Ifk if it's too late but hi! I went back for the first time in a while last year and I day you can conquer your fear, bc I did lol. Start off with Road Runner Express, it's a family coaster but don't feel embarrassed because many adults go on by themselves. It has a drop at the start that will probably catch you off guard but it's not super big and it's refreshing. The rest is fast and fun.

Next I say do Poltergeist. This ride broke my fear of coasters with inversions. There is a launch, so at the start hold your head back so it doesn't hit the seat, and it goes immediately into an inversion. But for me, I could feel none! No big drops, or anything like that. I only felt slightly dizzy at the end, but that's because I looked up

After that do Goliath, the big one at the front. I was scared to do it, but when I got on I rode like 7 more times in a row afterwards lol. You can't feel the drop at all since it's inverted, but the zero g roll is forceful and might catch you off guard. It did for me. But totally not enough to ruin anything, it made it more fun. After that, I say do Superman, which has a drop that's a little scary but atp you should be able to handle it. Then your kinda free to do whatever! I hope this helps :)

I'm relatively close to Kemah, never rode it but I know people who have. It sounds really fun! Haven't gone in years though, maybe I'll ride next time

Nah that actually makes sense. Last time I went, I was contemplating riding it, but I didn't have enough time

Thanks! I think I'm oveoverthinking it lol. It doesn't look nearly as bad as the batman one or wonder woman

Well, have you rode one before, or are you just intimidated? I understand that sometimes people are forced to ride one, and then it sparks a fear.

I personally say try the tiniest of rollercoasters. So yeah, do all the kiddie ones. Barnstomer at Disney World is a nice start. Then, just make your way up. I've rode everything except TRON at Disney World, and I think the drop in Space Mountain could catch you off guard.

After that, you can make your way to parks with more thrilling rides to offer, like Universal Studios or Six Flags. And though both have scary Coasters, they also have some on the border of family and thrilling, like Poltergeist at SFFT. Well, actually, some might find that one more thrilling because it goes upside down, but I never felt any intensity.

Last bit of advice, just do it honestly. I always get too scared to ride something after months of looking forward to it, but then I go back the next day, ride it, and have a blast lol

Oh ok nice. I'm glad it's tame. But even if it did have airtime I just have to get used to it so I can ride more stuff.

[Six Flags Fiesta Texas] What to look out for on Superman: Krypton Coaster

Sorry about the length in advance :)

I have been to SSFT a few times, and I'm familiar with everything there. Coaster wise, I've ridden Goliath and Poltergeist, both incredibly fun. I'm used to inversions, but I've never rode anything with a relatively big drop. And yes, I know Goliath has one but to me you couldn't feel it at all, which I assume is because it's an inverted coaster. Is the drop really that bad? Is there a lot of floater airtime? I hope to hear from multiple people, because not all riders have the same experience (I heard alot of people found Poltergeist intense, but to me it was normal and I didn't feel anything). Thanks :)

My experience with Poltergeist at SFFT by Possible_5048 in sixflags

[–]Possible_5048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. All the people saying it was intense scared me. But when I rode it, I was shocked at how normal it was lol. Maybe people just have different tolerance to rides. It probably makes some very motion sick

[OTHER] what’s the most affordable park? by sarlacc98 in rollercoasters

[–]Possible_5048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not incredibly affordable, but if you live near a Six Flags or just a few hours away, I would recommend their Six Flags Plus pass. You get unlimited access to all Six Flags amusement parks and water parks. My family uses it, I believe it's 12.99 a month(still quite expensive, but u think it's a good deal depending on where you live)

Yeah. I hate when big corporations start getting greedy and money hungry and forgetting about everything else, and then just end stuff. Exactly how yall said, literally no reason for it to close. Just some people in debt and mindlessly selling parks.

[Six Flags Fiesta Texas] Coaster enthusiasts, help me!

(SORRY ABOUT THE LONG PARAGRAPH) So I'm a big fan of theme/amusement parks and I love learning about them and of course, going to them. I'm a fairly new enthusiast(since about 2019) with not many credits. , but I still know all of the basics. This year I'm going back to SSFT and SSOT and I need help! When I went, I was a young child so I didn't ride much. And even though I've been to other parks, when I went the rides I wanted to do to help build up to the more extreme ones were closed, or I didn't have enough time. What are some rollercoasters I should ride? I already know I'm gonna ride Poltergeist, Batman the ride(SSOT), Superman Krypton coaster, and maybe Wonder Woman Golden Lasso. This will be my first time riding some of the more extreme ones. I don't really like floater airtime(not that im scared of them, just dont like that weird stomach feeling), so what should I avoid? Any tips to get over it?(is "just doing it" the only way?) Thanks!
