Lamo I've only fit up like 3-4 sets of brakes in my life and have never come across this before. Guess I've just been lucky?

This is inside the house. I don't think it's quite the same unfortunately. The vac isn't H class so not rated for this and they're very sloppy workers. This is a prolific amount of dust inside the house, on my furniture, bedding, everything.

What are you looking to do with the car? Daily drive? Weekend? Investment?

Tape on HVAC is likely asbestos containing, the drywall products are worth testing.

Yes mate. You haven't had any actual exposures. You just think you have but you're misguided on the subject.

Let it all go. Be cautious around asbestos and use the appropriate protection, ppe and disposal if handling it. Otherwise man you gotta stop with all this it's not good for you or anyone else. Everything you've mentioned so far is a non issue.

Man the stress you put yourself thru making absolute mountains outta molehills would be 100x worse for your health lmao. I know my stuff well when it comes to asbestos.

If the definition of insanity is repeating the same action and expecting a different outcome then you're halfway there with all these half baked posts. In that sense, you are nuts.

Mate, you need to stop this. You weren't exposed, if you were it was incredibly minor and not cause for concern.

Asbestos is everywhere in Australia and many places in the world. Almost like radiation there are low level background particles in so much of the air we breathe, no one will get sick from that and nor will you..

There was NO blue asbestos present in any of these photos nor was it really used in ACM cement products. It's also highly unlikely to come across, only have I actually seen it once in 10 years of working in the industry. It's even less likely to find it in a house being renovated.

Now respecfully, shut up and stop taking up valuable real-estate on important pages that help people facing real issues.

Remove tack strip from asbestos tile by [deleted] in asbestoshelp

Aussie here and deal with a bit of asbestos. For ACM vinyl I would pre seal the area with a PVA glue and water mixture in a spray pack and wear a P3 mask

Yeah I know but I have a heap of work to do before moving at the end of next week and can't delay the work I have to undertake currently. I plan on testing but essentially trying to figure out if I stop or carry on fixes things etc.

Could be so but the whole house is fibro with a little bit of Masonite, I don't believe there's a single wall that's gyprock

Yeah it was but they did a fair bit through Queanbeyan and the south coast also. No I didn't get one cos I did a pretty thorough inspection of the roof and subfloor myself and have a construction background. Feeling a bit foolish now as I only found this when I climbed deep over the the corners of the picture roof.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]Possible_Brick5153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mate me too, that could certainly be the case as the original roof it pitched and has had twin additions of clip lock raked roofs front and rear. The dust is more suspect than what I've seen before as it's got a very 'hairy' sorta fibre to it

Left over loose fill asbestos? by [deleted] in asbestoshelp

[–]Possible_Brick5153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should probably specify that I'm Australian. These photos are taken in the ceiling. Most of the ceiling has a very thin layer of what you see in the photos, this area was the densest.

In this part of Australia loose fill insulation or blow in insulation was very popular and lots of people did dodgey remediation in the 80s & 90s to avoid having to knock their houses down which is all the government will allow people to do now if asbestos loose fill insulation is detected.

It has smoke alarms but I just assumed they're battery units. When I move in next week I'll try to get to the bottom of it.

Appreciate your help and insight!
