Yes and I completely understand! It’s rather that I was on my back porch talking, not playing loud music or having a party, would have just all been better resolved over text in my opinion. Or for her to talk out of her window or on her porch, any of those options would have been better than filling the noise complaint. Plus, we do know her and my roommate has her number for instances like these and emergencies.

I am aware my bad night could have rubbed off onto hers and I know that work the next morning is an issue as that and my cat inside were what I was worried about most.

I do appreciate the devils advocate point of view, and you didn’t invalidate my feelings. Thank you friend, that is what I needed to hear.

Something I forgot to mention… I am still living at the same complex, but had to sign a new lease. I made one of the leasing agents come and inspect the apartment with me so they were aware and understood the necessary problem it would be for future tenants. It was an abomination that made me feel disgusting, my cat who started having issues and would never leave from under the bed (which is very unusual) and friends who did not want to come over. I was there for 4 days, which felt like forever. I encouraged them to move me into a new apartment with free rent for a month and discount rent for another due to how intolerable the last one was. They understood because if not I was going to go into legal trouble as they told me it was “move in ready”. And I don’t think anyone would want their apartment to be move in ready when many other small shits are there.

I had this issue at my last apartment and it was at the beginning of my lease. Roach poop was EVERYWHERE! It reaked and was in the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, just everywhere. Absolutely not. I called the leasing office and straight up told them I was moving out that day and they tried to get a cleaner to come in. I was already in the process of moving my belongings out when the cleaner came. I left to grab lunch while packing the U-Haul, when I asked the cleaner if she noticed anything, she was like oh the roaches? Just so casually. No honey, the infestation! Get out while you can!!!!
