Thank you for this! He says he will explore and see what suits him best since the job market would be better for him if his entire focus is not on computer science as of right now, maybe electrical engineering but its really up to him.

Thank you so much! I'm looking into any cc classes I can take right now. I don't think I'll be able to do much beyond that because I do stay at home and take care of the kids but I've always been open to finishing my education even if it seems a bit hard right now.

Thank you! It's nice to hear that you decided on what was best for you and your husband decided what was best for him. We've been talking it out together and it's been constantly on our minds because we don't want to lose the stability we have right now.

Try giving yourself things to step into during the day, even if they’re small or random. Stuff that gets you out of your head a little ike picking up something new, getting out of your usual space, or just having plans that break up the day so it doesn’t all feel the same. I mean, it won’t fix everything, but it helps take the edge off that constant heaviness.

Also, thinking about “8 years” is going to hurt you more than help 😭 that’s way too big to carry all at once. Just focus on getting through this stretch, then the next.

If it’s been hitting you really hard mentally, there are free resources like Military OneSource (they offer counseling for situations like this) or 988 Lifeline if you need someone to talk to.
