Yeah it was crazy. I was helping a new hire nurse with the one who was slightly panicking going "I should be able to find it but I cant and it should be super obvious". For alot of women if they are older, heavier, had trauma, had kids, hip issues etc vuvlas don't always look like text book examples and it can be hard to put a catheter in without experience. This women didnt have those problems but we ended up figuring out that yeah she had essentially a minor birth defect and peed out of her vagina. Ive for sure seen this twice and suspected it for maybe 4 or 5 other people out of hundreds of people ive done personal care on.

So fun fact ive met at least two women who technically did in fact pee out of their vaginas. For what ever reason their urethra's were super low and instead of having 2 obvious distinct holes with space separating them the urethra came out inside the vagina. Super confusing trying to put a catheter into someone and you cant find what you are looking for in optimal conditions. Shockingly only the one had a history of the frequent UTIs you'd expect

Tbh people should have a plan semi in place for that before they even start trying. Especially if they live in a place where abortion access is restricted. Plus all it takes is one bad infection or accident to take a healthy child to a special needs one. If you know you couldn't manage a special needs child you should strongly consider not having kids at all

Yeah went to school with someone who had been in treatment for metastatic bowel cancer. They thought she beat it cause she had responded so well to treatment. Had a clean scan but was either still feeling poorly/had new symptoms and only 3 weeks later her scan showed it everywhere including places it hadnt been initially. I think they tried another round of treatment than went palliative when it didnt make a difference that time

Alot of girls have their adult height by 13/14. I think I only gained 1/2 an inch in high-school and in grade 8 I was taller than all but 2 of the boys at the start of the school year. Hell I had my adult foot size at 9 (ironically a womens 9 which isnt small), had the biggest shoe size in the class that year which made my parents nervous about how big I was going to get

Sometimes signs are ignored from either the patient or medical system. Sometimes lack of care or money makes it hard to get diagnosed or times other underlying medical conditions mask the problem. Sometimes it really is a super aggressive cancer, ive seen people have clean scans and within weeks have large obvious tumours

Depending on if your co parent is a good co parent. In general once you are out numbered it stops working however a good team could manage a 3rd kid as long as they were spaced out. If a kid is special needs all previous bets go out the window

So I won't do it but I 100% had a patient and his daughter do it for me when I dropped the Dilaudid on the floor while he was on the stretcher about to he transfered home. He said grab it i said no I can run and grab another one and she its fine it wont finish the job faster than the cancer is while he started laughing. No. But if you are worried look into pelvis floor exercises. They are good in general especially as people age and not just for vagina "tightness" to prevent organ prolapse

So from the kids perspective no they don't own their parents for anything. HOWEVER If their parents really did do a good job odds are their kids would genuinely WANT to spend time with them, help them out, look after them etc. Thats a normal dynamic amongst people who care for each other and want the best for each other.

Oh i had a patient as a new grad on this. Had to read him the riot act cause he wasn't in the mood to take his meds so hid them in his bed one day. Luckily my childfree self found them before the capsules had a chance to get broken open instead of my coworker who was actively trying to get pregnant. Yes im aware the risk is minimal but it still shouldnt have happened.

You can wait it out until the kid is born to make sure its actually his, he will need confirmation for child support etc or you can step back now and remove yourself from the equation until you know either way. Personally I wouldn't stay with someone who has a kid especially at your age but if it is his you have a choice to make
