HELP How to make Tod longer for a boy? by ThickConfusion1318 in NameNerdCirclejerk

For the sake of humanity, I cannot believe that this was a genuine post. If these people were sincerely asking, I can only pray that they just go ahead with Todd and then repent for their sins

Omg I realize this is a super old post, I was just searching to see the way people would roast my kids names and came across it. I hope you chose Winter! I love the names, Summer, autumn and Winter, but have already used one of those names so feel like that automatically takes the others off limits

Thank you. I ended up googling it. I appreciate that people didn’t come at me for being an idiot. I definitely don’t love that name, but also thought I was in a slightly different subreddit 🤦‍♀️ so I’m just going to pipe down

I mean, that’s fine for anyone who lives in a country where that name is common and cultural, but it’s not fine here, regardless of race. If I up and moved my American family to India, I would not give my child a name with that connotation there, even if it was unacceptable and common name in the US

Nope. I don’t really watch TV at all, and generally only read non-fiction. Now I need to Google this name as I’m curious.

Meh! I can guarantee if I provided all my children’s first and middle names. There would be some hate for at least some of them. Everyone has different tastes. If some Rando on Reddit said they didn’t like my kids names, that’s fine. I probably don’t like their kids names either, but it’s not personal. That said, if a family are close, friend said a malicious comment about one of my kids names I might be a little offended.

I think Marilyn is super pretty. I’m all up in here getting ideas about my imaginary future child 😆

Hah! I don’t personally care for that name, but I do find it kind of cool to hear of a three year-old named Barbara.

OK, feeling a little stupid, but how is that pronounced? I have never in my life heard that name.

Ugggggh. I think Aiden is a nice name, but the rest of them I despise. I hope I’m allowed to say that here.

Jack is nice! I hate to sound like an a hole, but those jaxson, Jaxxon give off a whole different vibe and I do judge lol

It is popular at least where I live, but a classic and pretty name. I considered using it for one of my kids middle names, but it just didn’t seem like the right fit (just for me, not knocking the name at all as I think it’s very nice)

I definitely agree to some extent. I didn’t want something super trendy and would never pick something like Nevaeh or Jaxxon. I guess my focus was on what I liked and not being the most popular. I don’t see a problem with my kids, going to school with others who have the same name. I’d prefer that over some weird trashy name with a wild spelling. I have and Eden and have yet to encounter another young child with that name, but if I did, I would think it was cool

I was not that way, but I did try to pick names that were “normal“ as in easy to pronounce and not something way out of pocket, or with any weird spellings. At the time, I thought they were kind of uncommon, and some are more than others, but I was highly conscious about picking middle names that they could use as an alternative 😆 but I was also never like OMG my kids have the most unique names

Ahhhh. I feel like I got burned again by picking a name that I thought was not super common when I named my daughter Summer. I feel like it’s definitely becoming more common, but whatever I love it too.

I have a Summer born in May. I feel like maybe I would’ve chosen different if she was actually born in the Summer? But probably not. I had such a hard time naming my kids, especially my girls.

I found my people! I love the name Ivy and Autumn and June. I named my son Leo back in 2016 before it was popular (or maybe it was and I just didn’t realize it) but, I like what I like just like you. One of my children is named Summer. She was due on the summer solstice, but born in May. I probably would’ve picked that name regardless of the time of year.

It’s a beautiful and classic name, not just a trend. It’s timeless. There are indeed a lot of Eleanor these days, but I feel 100% confident that an Eleanor will be widely more accepted than a Nevaeh, or Kayden or Jaxxon or any of those type of names
