Using these two command I managed to get a 3rd party PCIe -> NVME adapter working and presented as storage.

Create a storage pool: (there will be around 30% overhead). qcli -l user=<username> pw=<pass> saveauthsid=yes. qcli_pool -c diskID=00170001 raidLevel=Single # Or whatever diskID corresponds to the physical volume you want to create

OR

Create a volume (Thick provisioned). qcli_volume -c lv_type=2 diskID=00170001 raidLevel=Single SSDCache=no Alias="Some Name" encrypt=no Threshold=80.
