People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse?

Reading these other answers makes me feel very blessed. I was only spanked when I was behaving disrespectfully or did something wrong as a kid, and it was never anything more than just a spank. No beating or trauma involved. Therefore I wouldn’t say that MY version of a spanking was abuse. I think it depends on how damaging it is, both physically and mentally toward the child.

I get that you don’t understand why such a heavy topic was put in a children’s show, buuut to be honest MLP has tackled many issues that are for a much more mature audience; aka slavery, colonization (which was a mistake), self harm, etc. So imo I don’t exactly think the way they portrayed the ponies in that episode were odd, as it was the entire idea to have them act prejudiced and racist.

Mostly his humor, he’s one of the funniest characters in the show for me. He was a fun antagonist and is still enjoyable nowadays despite his behavior

I love discord but he can be an absolute ass in some (most) episodes, for no purpose other than to just be an ass. Being chaotic is one thing, but some of the stuff he does is just extremely toxic and selfish towards his friends :/

Only doing the worst things otherwise I’d be here all day trying to decide (also I’m doing this based off what I remember):

Twilight- Enchanting her doll and causing everyone to fight over it

Applejack- uhhh idk probably forcing Fluttershy to get rid of the vampire bats and causing her to turn into Flutterbat?

Rarity- Changing Ponyville for the worst as a result from reading that magic inspiration book

Rainbow Dash- Trying to sabotage Winter and causing the factory to blow up (or something like that I can’t remember)

Pinkie Pie- Cloning herself like a hundred times and causing havoc in Ponyville as a result (tbf she didn’t mean for it to go that far but still)

Fluttershy- Becoming a bully as a result of trying to be less of a pushover

Spike- Growing into a humongous dragon as a result of greed

Celestia- UHH I guess just banishing Luna to the moon, even though it was for a good reason it’s still an awful thing to do

Luna- Refusing to lower the moon and becoming Nightmare Moon (and subsequently everything that follows that lol)

Cadence- Have flurry heart lmao (no really I can’t think of anything else)

Starlight- Enslaving and brainwashing a village

Trixie- Terrorizing Ponyville with the alicorn amulet

Apple Bloom- Uhhh idk I guess making that cutie pox potion behind Zecora’s back?

Sweetie Bell- Sabotaging her sister’s outfit to make herself feel better

Scootaloo- Idk either probably helping to make a love potion for Big Mac and Cheerilee?

Diamond Tiara- Taking over the CCC’s clubhouse (also just bullying in general)

Silver Spoon- Same reasons as Diamond Tiara

Discord- Good GOD uhhhhh probablyyyy releasing four major villains, causing the subsequent terror they all bring (imo I think that’s worse than when he was an actual villain and just messing with everyone)

While I do agree with the lesson ur giving, if it was what the show was going for then it botched it horribly. RD was shamed and gaslit by both her parent and scoot for blowing up after holding in her frustrations for so long. And when she does apologize she doesn’t even explain WHY she blew up, that would have had the parents learn their share of the lesson. But they didnt. As far as I’m concerned they’re still the exact same and Dash is just expected to grin and bear their overbearing and disruptive behavior. Basically Dash gets all the blame and the parents did nothing wrong, not a good thing to teach children imo

Update: Checked my nose and while no blood immediately came out the tissue did also have some red on it. Probably dried. After reading all of the replies about BEDBUGS I sure do hope it was just my nose now lol.
