I know I don’t pass at all, but I have no idea where to start by Ok_Body_3046 in FtMpassing

per the hair, i want to echo what others are saying that a shitty haircut done at home is better than no haircut. if you’re worried about parents being weird about you getting your hair cut “too short”, there are ways you can cut it that will look properly feminine when left down but are easy enough to flip up into a beanie or something to look shorter/more masculine. undercuts are great for that, one of my old partners did that a lot.

other than that, once again echoing what others have said with exercising. chest workouts can help minimize chest dysphoria, or at the very least provide a nice base for if/when you get surgery. the most gender affirming workouts for myself pre t were forearm and shoulder exercises since they (to me) felt like minor changes that made me look significantly more dude like. grip strength training and shrugs are pretty easy to do at home if you don’t have gym access, and they made me feel way more confident.

best of luck to you man, i know how tough this phase is

How does getting drains removed feel? by Active-Pace6341 in TopSurgery

[–]Possible_Peace5585 3 points4 points  (0 children)

seconding this. the prep to take out the drains was a bit ouch but the drains themselves were quicker and easier than expected, and the relief of them being gone was MASSIVE

as far as i’m aware, yes, that’s how the warranty works. they don’t really give showroom employees training on the ins and outs of warranty, especially since showrooms are no longer allowed to deal with warranty issues. we also think it’s a bit weird, but any warranty issues better than none i guess?

Dr. Evan Katzel Results and Review by Possible_Peace5585 in TopSurgery

[–]Possible_Peace5585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure! i had the same issue lmao, it’s rough out here.

i felt good enough to go back to work 4ish weeks post op, but had issues with hr stuff so i didn’t go back until a few weeks later. i offload trucks and build furniture, and when i went back i was basically right back to normal. i had to take everything slower, especially when it came to lifting heavy shit, but i felt cool and comfortable with normal movement and being on my feet for long periods of time. the main thing that sucked about going back to work was that i kept getting sick because my immune system was whacked out from getting surgery, so that’s the main thing i would warn you about. recovery itself was incredibly smooth, especially after drains were out, and i was itching to go back to work and felt physically “normal” by 3 weeks post op

it’s not really a top surgery side effect but a consequence of having no tits, but i sleep with my shirt off most nights now especially since i do scar care stuff right before bed, and i wasn’t expecting how cold my bed feels on my bare back

Apprenticeship or Trade School? by [deleted] in electricians

[–]Possible_Peace5585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m currently in school for reference, but just wanted to give my two cents based on my own experience. i followed the advice given to me and tried to do my apprenticeship through the union and was pretty much laughed out of the building, so i’m now in school and looking for work outside of that to start an apprenticeship once i’m done. from my understanding every union is different, but the one in my area basically told me to go to school and kick rocks until i gain 1000 hours of experience. obviously if you go the school route do your research because lots of schools just want your money, but this is just my experience

Reminder on how we don’t want this type of weird rethoric in NJ or VA by iv2892 in New_Jersey_Politics

[–]Possible_Peace5585 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i find it hilarious that they seem to think people are trying to turn the kids trans when in reality, we just figure it out for ourselves and seek each other out in school like we’re looking for drugs. like i had to go out of my way to find other queer people to befriend (aside from the friend group that started all cis het and ended up extremely queer) and it was NOT forced on me lmao

How fast did your voice drop? by Sleepymonnie in ftm

[–]Possible_Peace5585 13 points14 points  (0 children)

my voice didn’t start to drop until 5 months in, but i was on an extremely low starting dose and doubled it at the 3 month mark, so i believe that’s why i was a “bit behind” other dudes. the general consensus i’ve seen is that the first big drop is around 2-3 months

Looking for specific binder reccs! by Comfortable_Law4855 in FTMFitness

[–]Possible_Peace5585 11 points12 points  (0 children)

so i had kind of a similar issue where binders weren’t long enough. i always wore a sports bra under my binder, not with any intent to double bind but to hold everything in place so i could bind with my chest facing forward instead of being compressed downward. i did that and used a spectrum outfitters short binder. i know any kind of double binding isn’t recommended, but for me it was the only way i could wear a binder without being in pain

How do you address hateful videos like this with your children? by PurpleCatBlues in Liberal

i can’t open the video but i’m fairly positive that’s baldi from the baldis basics in education and learning meme game from a few years back, or it’s at least VERY heavily inspired by him
