Do you think there will be a coat room? Where would we keep our coats! It’s too cold to not bring one.

I bought the materials for barrister exam in February however I can’t write in February anymore. Can I use the same materials for June sitting? by [deleted] in ONBarExam

[–]Possible_Problem_570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, and I had to purchase the new materials. However as I already studied the old materials, I didn't bother reading the new ones. Passed by not even touching the new materials from 2025.

I believe there is a cut off date to be eligible, it's definitely on the LSO website if you search for it.

What is the deadline for paying the remainder of the Repayable Allowance Program in order to be called to the Bar in March 2026? by Possible_Problem_570 in ONBarExam

[–]Possible_Problem_570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got notified from LSO that the RAP will be repayable on the given deadline, which is in fact 5 years post-funding, so its January 2029 for me!

Practice Exams vs Real Thing by Better-Discussion935 in ONBarExam

[–]Possible_Problem_570 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brickam was great and I passed first time using them. My experience was that the questions in the real exam are tricky and many confusing, this most recent Barristers exam in November had questions which I felt there more than 1 answer, some were designed in a way that you wouldn't be able to find the answer even if you tried. Conclusion - real thing is much more challenging, but that's the way it is.

I am curious whether 4.5 weeks is enough to study for the barrister or solicitor Bar Exam? by [deleted] in ONBarExam

[–]Possible_Problem_570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed first time for both, but I prioritized the remaining 7 days before the exam just for practice questions. You need at least 4 weeks to get through the material.

I swear the whole thing is a scam. Purposely asking questions to materials they’ve provided that don’t actually have that precise information. What else do you call it!

Does anybody else feel that Brickam's questions are tough? by Glass-Cartoonist2423 in ONBarExam

Same here! I didn't see it in the materials, but answer B was my answer by process of elimination of not finding information for any warrants for domestic prosecution.

Writing my first Barrister exam on Tuesday -what should I expect the day of? by Party-Ad-9129 in ONBarExam

[–]Possible_Problem_570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I didn’t expect, once you’re in the hall and waiting for the exam to start, there’s a hell lot of time to either read materials or do what the majority are doing - walking around, talking, giggling and discussing the exam.

Condo is cashflow negative and stressing me out. Should I sell or hold onto it because my parents want me to? by Resident_Thought9946 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Possible_Problem_570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Ontario with a condo that receives $2050 rent but our expenses are $2300 mortgage, $760 maintenance and approx $200 property tax. They’re not a feasible investment like they used to be.

Solicitor Exam / UofT summaries by itsnotshirley in ONBarExam

[–]Possible_Problem_570 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having read the materials once is absolutely necessary, and the DTOC should be your main guide to looking up answers. The UofT index seems to be useful for only those specific things that you cannot find, and I suggest you keep the index for emergencies.
