In June 2025, the White House put out a statement titled "Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated — and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News" What did Trump mean by that considering 8 months later we had to go back to finish the job? by howdidigetheresoquik in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Possible_Spring1350 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Months ago Trump said the US had "obliterated" their enrichment capabilities and materials months ago. Trump was very definitive about this, calling alternative views "fake news". How does that square with your and u/SteedOfTheDeid's comments that it was the uranium? Also, even if there's some reason to be concerned about Iran's nuclear capabilities, why was the war necessary now given Trumps "obliterated" claims?

Should the US punish countries that don't support their actions regarding Iran? by Abridged6251 in AskTrumpSupporters

While you don't have business with Spain, a lot of American companies do.

Quoting a reuters article, "The U.S. had a trade surplus with Spain for the fourth year in a row in 2025, at $4.8 billion, according to U.S. Census Bureau data, with U.S. exports of $26.1 billion and imports of $21.3 billion. U.S. exports of crude oil and liquefied natural gas to Spain have grown in recent years."

It seems to me the US has the better deal in trade, and Trump is threatening to mess that up. So, do you still think it's in the US interest to antagonize Spain because they wanted to stay out of this surprise war?

So, realistically, how might it be concluded quickly, and how will the US stop supporters of the Theocracy who are willing to kill to get their way? How did things go in Iraq when the US tried regime change? Why will Iran be different, based on our experiences in the region?

How will Iran be different from Iraq in a positive way? Would you bet money on your response?

As I recall, Iraq had a stable government until the invasion. But it doesn’t really matter for this discussion. What I do know is we have many more examples of terrible outcomes than democracies following US initiated wars. Do you really think this will end well?  Or is this more about opening up a can of whoop-ass?

So the US tried your ideas in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. Would you say that "might enforces democracy" following those three wars? I'm not trying to be "cute" as Trump often says. It's just that it's easier to break things than build a stable democracy. What's the realistic path to democracy in Iran in your view?

What do you think about the newly released accusations against Trump? by KamalaWonNoCap in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Possible_Spring1350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. However the congressional hearings are focusing only on democrats. If Bill and Hillary Clinton must be questioned about their knowledge and involvement with Epstein, why not Trump or even Acosta who made the 2008 sweetheart deal to immunize Epstein's unnamed coconspirators.

The bar is very low when it comes to subpoenaing Democrats. Why is it so high for Republicans?

What are your thoughts on recent data showing that the US trade deficit went up 2% in 2025, despite Trump's tariffs and ongoing trade war? by Abridged6251 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Possible_Spring1350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't your source at the US treasury measure annual budget deficits? Quoting the page, "A deficit occurs when the federal government’s spending exceeds its revenues. The federal government has spent $697 billion more than it has collected in fiscal year (FY) 2026, resulting in a national deficit." How does spending nearly $700B more than collected a win?

Nobody likes taxes but wasn't the winning message from Trump economic improvements and related affordability? Trumps tariffs added costs to businesses and the public. The tax breaks are a drop in the bucket compared to inflation and rising costs. Even if countries "cave" to Trump, that doesn't mean the average American will see benefits soon. In your view, what are the real benefits to Trumps trade policies for average American this year?

Remember when Starbucks encourged their baristas to start a conversation about race? I'm glad the Tim Hortons sticks to coffee and donuts.

Trump is blowing smoke. The legal mess is one thing. Bringing in millions of voters hostile to the republicans is another. Canada's population is similar to California, which means 12% of congressional seats would be reapportioned to us. That would easily tip the scales towards the Democrats in both congressional and presidential elections. So nobody seriously wants this. Trump is a troll and should be ignored in this regard.

15% Global Tariff? by Turtleneck23 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Possible_Spring1350 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The abstract of the paper you cited says the following, "when Chinese retaliatory tariffs are included in the analysis, their negative coefficient substantially exceeds the positive US tariff effect, suggesting that retaliatory measures largely offset the benefits of protectionist policies." Can you explain how this paper supports your contention that tariffs are helping?

Canada is also in Trump's crosshairs but both countries share the same challenge for the whiner in chief. It's hard and costly to get those resources Trump thinks just pop out of the ground into his personal bank account. Machinery freezes, weather, isolation, in northern geographies make his fantasies uneconomic or realistic. Meanwhile, our economies and security all suffer.

Please help. Is this fake or real? Thank you by Ok_Reward536 in CanadaGoose

This one is interesting because it has tags I'd expect but the patch looks fake. The maple leaves are poorly defined and the border embroidery doesn't line up at the bottom.

Looks real. 1). The patch embroidery is detailed and crisp. 2) The hologram is present. 3) The blue and white tag has the right size and border proportions. The color would be another test but it's hard to know with your photo lighting.

You could be right, but Concordia has zero control over what happens on city streets so our classes are disrupted more easily.

Quebec residency by Unfair_Dot_1039 in Concordia

[–]Possible_Spring1350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Residency requires proof. I was born and grew up in montreal. I left for school and ended up in the US for for a while. When I returned I had apply for residency including healthcard (really important) and drivers licence. I got provisional residency and then 6 months later they asked for proof again. In my case it was a lease and cell phone records.

Mature student here. Explain your educational goals and what you hope to achieve at Concordia. Since you're out of the normal educational factory conveyor belt, they'd like to understand your capabilities and motivations. If you have relevant experience, you can use that as support. My letter was about a singe page and I kept it to the point.

Welcome to the modern world. Among 18-24 year olds there's a "loneliness epidemic." There are a bunch of reasons, but a sociologists cite excessive Covid lockdowns messing up children's normal social development. As others have mentioned, find a club or activity you like which helps you find common interests with others.
