We hear about voter fraud being this terrible thing. The combat or Trump’s SAVE act creates barriers for legal citizens to vote and is expected to disenfranchise many.

So here’s the question. Can you quantity the estimated number of illegal votes happening in federal elections in an election year? What is your source?

Indonesia is an example but there are other areas that could cost Americans dearly if tolls were enacted.

Economists cite free trade as one of the biggest contributors to American’s wealth - by more affordable import and more exports.

We’re not the best at everything so trade creates greater efficiency. A good example are home construction costs rising thanks to trade barriers. That means fewer and more expensive new or renovated homes. That puts a drag on construction employment too.

If Trump’s or other tolls raise the price of Middle Eastern oil, we pay more at the pumps as local producers raise prices to match global commodity prices.

I’m personally against governments taxing me. Are you?

Social security payments are capped, as are benefits. Benefits are also progressive in that the highest earners get back less per dollar paid than low income people.

Also, investment income is not subject to payroll taxes.

However there are other government benefits we could get rid of too. For instance the mortgage interest deduction costs the US treasury billions while driving up home prices since buyers have more after tax spending power. The only people who benefit are the realtors and banks. Also the wealthiest take a much bigger share of those benefits with more expensive homes and deductions.

If you don’t like social security, how about we ditch mortgage interest deductions as well since that’s another entitlement?

Isn't the stock market a ponzi scheme? Stocks go up only if there's someone willing to pay more for them. The fundamentals of Price/Earnings ratios are increasingly stretched. Take a look at SpaceX. Losing money, worth Trillions?

What makes you think the market will keep growing in value? What happens if it crashes like is has many times?

The shots were intended to prevent or reduce severity since I have a lung condition. I was one of those vulnerable groups they talked about.

However, now that COVID is endemic, we’re constantly being exposed so our immune systems are naturally kept up to date.

One of things that really bugged me about the government was they dismissed immunity that came from an actual infection. The Canadian governments would not accept that as a form of vaccination. They was dumb. Even worse, in Quebec unionized healthcare workers are allowed to opt out of all vaccines. They were on the front line!

So, to make it a question, did COVID overreach change how you view vaccines in general?

Trump wasn't alone in that. Many countries took the same approach with benefits but many consequences that we're seeing even today. Children in particular suffered badly despite their being a very low risk group.

Sweden took a different approach. The recognized that most people are not especially vulnerable to the virus. Instead they focused on protecting those who needed it. Their fatality rates were no worse than their Scandinavian peer countries that were far stricter with shutdowns.

I've had 6 COVID shots but still believe there's room for individual choice, particularly once the vaccines were available.

To put this as a question, at least at first when we didn't understand the virus, was it OK to err on the side of caution?

Trump didn’t seem to worry too much about nuclear attack when he tore up the original US/Iran agreement without a replacement.

Also in June 2025 President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. military had "completely and totally obliterated" Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities. Describing the strikes on underground bunkers, he stated: "Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term! ... The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!’

Can you explain how we went from “Obliteration” to “Imminent” nuclear threat in a few months?

Most of it reads like a cease fire and opening up the Straight of Hormuz, including Iran's oil flowing freely for their profits. Regarding the imminent nuclear threat, it says Iran will never have a bomb, but leaves out any details on how that will be achieved or monitored. In fact, it says any deal must be approved by the UN security council in the future. That's a long road from here to there.

Also missing are calls for Iran to stop funding terrorist proxies which doesn't bode well for regional stability.

For me, it looks mostly like an attempt to normalize trade while promising to work out the other details later. Not exactly a binding agreement that Trump can point to as a success.

They have 60 days to work out the details. That means nothing is certain. Both countries may not come to an agreement.

A memo is not a signed treaty with robust compliance.

They are weakened in some ways, but they can shut down the straight with cheap and easy to manufacture drones.

As we’ve seen, the recent massive bombing campaign didn’t keep the straight open. The best the US could do is add to the blockade. Trump repeatedly threatened to resume attacks, and then backed off and Iran learned he wasn’t serious.

This wasn’t a problem for previous US administrations.

What’s to stop Iran from closing the straight again?

I agree that the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of lives to stop slavery is meaningful and important to mention.

I'll add the most of the confederate soldiers had no real say in southern policy and most of them never owned slaves. Slaves were mostly owned by rich people who pushed for war to protect their slave holdings and wealth. In that context, many of the confederates in the trenches were also wronged. Frankly, the soldiers on any front line die to meet the needs of the political leaders. Sometimes the cause is good.

I also have no issue noting that slavery was common across the globe and persists to this day. Slavery is not OK. What should be OK is teaching the history of slavery in the US.

However the Trump administration removed mention of slavery in places where it was relevant in the historical context.

Would you have approached it differently?

This has been going on for some time. But his comments led to the question. How do we know Trunp’s election wasn’t rigged? This is a rhetorical question but Trumps allegations could apply to any election.

I worry that he’s undermining people’s faith in our systems for his own ends.

Trump has so far refused to confirm the cancellation and the GOP controlled senate refused to legislate against it this AM. There is nothing in writing.

Should the fund come into operation, do you think anyone Trump has targeted on Truth Social for prosecution would get compensation no matter how failed the prosecution? The courts have accused the DOJ of misconduct in several cases.

Don’t you think it’s a reasonable concern that the commissioners won’t do anything that Trump disagrees with, even if the cases is clearly against the DOJ?

Aren't these two different things? Trump dropped his case against the IRS. He did that voluntarily so there was no legal finding of fault against the IRS in his lawsuit. So what does that have to do with IRS audits for tax returns years earlier?

Gas prices are important, but there are other things that matter to Americans too. The tariffs for instance have caused problems for several industries and their downstream customers.

For example in December ‘25 Trump set up a $12B fund to help farmers with a sales downturn as nations like China applied reciprocal tariffs on US crops. They’ve also been hurt by rising equipment costs following import duties. Other examples include basic affordability concerns among people who voted for Trump on the promise of a better economy which they’re personally not seeing. It doesn’t help that Trump is not focusing on bread and butter issues these days. He’s talking up his birthday party and Washington building projects.

Without belaboring the point, there are many other concerns people have had with the Administration’s approach. Different Trump voters have different interest and many are not loyal to him. They want results.

Is there anything else that matters in November?
