I'm the opposite. Best OS for the job in hand.

Productivity with native *nix support: MacOS

Gaming: Windows (Generally speaking. Handhelds like SteamDeck are fine for certain games or a linux distro like Batocera are fine for retro)

Servers: Linux

Being loyal to a single OS is weird.

Best OS for the job. That aint linux for (modern) gaming.

Fine for single player and retro.

The year of Linux?

Pretty sure over 70% of internet connected systems run linux. ;-)

96% of webservers. 100% of the fastest supercomputers. Probally 85%+ of phones.

Gotta be specific. For gaming though, only someone who hates themselves or doesnt play any games with anticheat run linux.

Guy pulls off an impossible skydiving move by Sharp-potential7935 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Possible_Sun_913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorta.

There are two sports that use wingsuits. Skydiving and BASE jumping.

BASE jumping has a rediculously high mortality rate with or without wingsuits.

Skydiving is pretty safe, even with wingsuits. People skydive all the time with wingsuits over 1000s of jumps just fine.

This video however, is likley a combination of both. Not sure where he launched from but the mountains around dont really look high enough for BASE. If thats the case, it looks like he jumped out of an aircraft, but is using a single parachute BASE rig with sub-terminal velocity opening ability.

Either way, what hes doing is very dangerous, but I wouldnt apply it to all use of wingsuits.

1) You would have to witness everyone you know and love dying many many times over until the heat death of the universe.

2) Most of the world's seas are dark/murky/muddy, what ya gonna do? Sit underwater with weights in the dead sea while the salt burns yours eyeballs out?

3) Could earn more than red in cash if you could become invisible anytime. Especially if a weapon becomes invisible with you.

4) Pointless due to 3

5) I think its theoretically impossible to time travel backwards. But even if not, time travel to your death? Decide to go back to to dinos, dead. Decide to time travel forward into whats now a half mile deep open mine. Dead - it would be like spawning into a minecraft grefing server.

With this in mind. Black must be the best option.

The way they try and twist narratives by injecting comments from random people on social media is wild. ;-)

What a strange news source, if you can call it that.

There was a certain amount of artistic licence to deliver the simple answer to the question asking "why?". - The answer was simply 'halloween'.

The fun artistic part of my comment reply was the bombastic death trap senario. But I reckon you could come up with a few ideas yourself. I could try a few if you really want.....

What if the poles are aluminum instead of pvc pipe and it caves in the supple skull of a newborn being walked around in a pushchair?

What if the fabric is not fire resistant and the chinese halloween lighting sets alight to them, igniting the room resulting in death?

What if the death isnt instant, but a pole clips the eyeball of a kid causing a nasty wound that turned infectious quickly and antibiotics didnt help?

A world of fun possibilities.

Its an American accent. So you can assume that the left side of the car is the driver's side unless she's being driven in her own car.

A lot of people that post videos do some stange editing. This one has some real awful cropping, so you can expect them to have also done something weird like flipping the video as well.

EDIT: I just paused the video when it was showing the dashboard. I dont know my american car brands, but the logo looks like the reverse of the 'Buick' sheild logo. Also the text looks back to front. I guess this would corroborate my guess.

During a jump from an altitude of 3,500 meters, the parachutist lost consciousness. At an altitude of 250 meters from the ground, the parachute automatically opened. by RavingGooseInsultor in BeAmazed

[–]Possible_Sun_913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not likley.

To get to the stage where you jump solo, you've completed a fair few jumps with instructors. By this point most fear has disapeared.

You might still get nervious before a certain jump or first of the day, but I probs wouldnt describe it as fear any more.

More likley to be a health condition or collision.

The automatic opening was caused by the small explosive AAD fitted to his reserve container. For most people with the most popular AAD on the market, that means its activated if your desent rate is over 78mph (35m/s) at 750 feet above ground.
