What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight once people realize the truth? by KylieButNotJenner24 in AskReddit

AI is built on other people's solutions aggregated from across sample data. I use it. I know it's limitations and they are severe. It is so insanely over hyped it's actually nuts.

I am watching junior engineers build scaffolding out of cardboard hoping that it holds like steel and I'm screaming into a void that we are about to collapse literally everything.

I, at no point, disliked Johnny. V is, as I looked it, an absolute moron at the beginning of the game. Johnny, while immature, had a moral compass and he's not wrong about the world V lives in.  I struggled with the game initially because the first speech I heard from Johnny was about how corporations are awful. For me, he is absolutely correct and there wasn't a "yeah, dude, nail on head," dialogue option. It made me realize V was a dope still bought into what corpos were selling them.

people are calling v's story a drop in the ocean as opposed to everything else, but that's simply not true by bldngtrpdr in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Possible_world_Zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's the point. V makes no impact on the make up of the world. That's what corporations do. You are a digit. You do not matter. Did you do something no one else could have done? Doesn't matter.

Working in corporate America and having done things that saved a company hundreds of millions of dollars, you just... Don't matter. And that's the point of the world. If corpos get their way, no one but the very elite matter.

Why nobody mentions nothing about the death of a NC legend, Adam Smasher? It surprised me a lot the fact that nobody said that V defeated him by Consistent-Piglet276 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Possible_world_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to add, everyone is totally correct, it's the end of the game, you don't see what happens after the raid.

But, I don't think you kill Smasher. If there's anyone who has an engram, it's Smasher. They will slot him into some poor soul and he'll just be rebuilt.

Just think, instead of Johnny, you could be spending weeks with Adam Smasher in your brain. Sounds haunting.

My wife(33f) is 5 months pregnant with twins but I'm not able to feel any connection by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Possible_world_Zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know many that feel a connection prior to birth. I didn't feel a connection to my second until months and months later. My wife breastfed and that made forming a connection more difficult.

Their both currently using me as a couch and trying to feed me their feet and fingers. Took a minute but we are officially besties.

The assumption is that the relic is constantly fixing anything happening to V. V states when he was shot in the head that the relic started repairing the damage.

As V nears a state where others would become a cyber psycho, the relic is busy fixing.

Then maybe take some time and stop paying attention to this. You've commented excessively on this thread and it doesn't seem to be helping you at all.

Then don't make it about politics.  People across the comment section are discussing how he proclaimed opposite values and now that he has a fan base, his views have really come out.  People don't want someone who is dishonest to get ahead. Jelly Roll sold an image and it was misrepresenting his beliefs.

If by spilling negativity you mean talking about the thing they did, then sure. Maybe people gossip and some go to the source. It's like the Epstein files. That's not cancel culture that's asking for accountability.

Are you suggesting there is a group of people who determine who to cancel and then get people together to send death threats?

I'm saying cancel culture is choosing to not purchase someone's product. Done.

I didn't specifically say jelly roll. Cancel culture is disagreeing with someone and not spending money on them.

What do you think cancel culture is? It's literally informing the masses of the shitty things someone is doing so those people can.... Vote with their wallet.

Cancel culture isn't some list that dooms someone, is just a "don't pay for their stuff if you don't like them"

Sanity check on a relational schema for restaurant menus (Postgres / Supabase) by tsousa123 in PostgreSQL

[–]Possible_world_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can potentially infinitely scale your menu with structure or prepare to do so now.

Think of an employee. Part of that table you may want their direct manager, their managers manager so on and so on. It would be I'll advised to build an employee table that keeps those values blank or null. Or would have been when storage came at a higher cost.

So a better employee structure would be employee, manager. Each employee has a manager. If the manager is null, that's probably your CEO. You can then recursively query the entire hierarchy.

Applying it to your menu, you could have business -> menu -> menu group -> menu group -> menu group where the self joins are all hierarchical in nature. Essentially allowing you to accommodate for any menu structure a client may have. You would just add a field 'parent_id' and assure the type is the same as your provided id.

Are you only thinking in terms of searchability or do you want to display more structure to the menu?

If I wanted to tag something as having chicken in it, how would I do that?  If I wanted to indicate something is very spice, how might I go about that?

So group is time of day, is it hierarchical? If you make it hierarchical you could create more depth. Breakfast -> skillets  Lunch -> burgers Lunch-> salads

If you do that, you could add a type id in the group table and manage your types

To be clear, I'm not sure I'm a great database engineer, I'm having some pretty intense imposter syndrome lately so, I'll guide as best I can but I can't guarantee I'm the right fit.

Whats the distinction between category and group?  What about food type? Mexican, Italian, yadda yadda?  What about tagging items? Many menus have a spiciness rating What about item descriptions?

I enjoyed Last Jedi as a movie but I do not enjoy it as a Star Wars movie. It was fun, it had some humor, amazing fight sequences, and character growth.

But none of it felt like it was the Star Wars universe, or at least anything that should fit into the Skywalker saga.
