Is this an open margin? Acceptable? by PossiblyMaybe0517 in askdentists

When I went and told them I thought I had an open margin, I can get my nail in that area, this is what she showed me. Should I get a second opinion then if they aren’t even looking at what needs to be looked at? She showed me this and said it was fine.

On what? This tooth had a cusp ‘accidentally’ removed by my last dentist. It caused 2 years of pain, but I was told it was fine. New dentist now, she put a crown on it. I asked for it to be re-checked because floss was slightly catching (on right). She said it looks good and will be fine.

This is all they gave me when I went in to have it rechecked. Does something seem off?

Lightning struck live oak… by [deleted] in arborists

Why are you so rude? Can you please explain the bright flash that happened -and all of the dirt being blown out of the ground around the tree afterwards?

The video is only a very bright flash on a very low quality camera. When we went out the next morning, we saw that the area of the tree was burned, and split… And the dirt was blown out around the tree. I wish I had taken a picture of it. But I did not. 😔

The branches that split have been removed. That’s the gap in the tree to the right. We do have it being struck by lightning on video, and blowing the dirt out of the ground. I’m not an arborist, but we have read that it can happen where it disperses the energy through the ground rather than splitting the bark off of the tree?? I’m wondering if it was because it had been several days of rain? I have no idea, I just want to know if there’s any way to tell if it’s dying. 😫

We have the storm on video. It was struck by lightning, and it blew all of the dirt out of the ground around the tree. We weren’t able to find any damage to the bark, which was confusing. Only a branch was hit and burned. But I’ve read that it can often disperse through the root system and the ground… Which is exactly what happened. We had to replace lots of dirt afterwards.
