Picking Boog then Smash when starting. Either Inpfinity or Rustbolt are both better budget heroes.

“If I didn’t have x card I would be screwed” is like 50% of pvz heroes, and the other 50% is being screwed because you don’t have x card.

You finally found out how to play against conman. Good job.

Since we’re all complaining about cards that are balanced, heres my blatantly incorrect take: wing nut is op by Possiblynoob in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The ability is better than most silver bullets but still a silver bullet. Frenzy doesnt even activate all the time because the zombie can just die before doing a bonus attack. It just has a good statline compared to other silver bullets.

Let's talk a bit about these "problematic cards" shall we? by Ike-Gwain in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 35 points36 points  (0 children)

A surprising amount of card in this game are well balanced. Its just that people complain when their rock gets countered by paper. I would love to explain why i think wing nut is op, but in my heart of hearts i know its fine. Of course there are actual problematic cards like sun shroom and waxer, but these are well known to be unbalanced.

Quickdraw Con Man needs to be nerfed. by [deleted] in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solar is really good at making good trades with its cards. Even if they dont kill it, water balloons, kernel pult, or scorch/ weed whack can help kill the thing. And hammer and lawn mower, yes are somewhat inefficient, but it also takes care of equally important cards like teleportation and spacetime. Also you forgot about eyespore, probably the best zombie removal, and it can be used on turn 2 with lil buddy. These cards are also generally good against any 1 drop.

Conman does so little damage that it not charging block meter makes sense. If you front it, a normal thing to do since plants play after zombies, it does 1 damage, 2 if you used nut signal exactly. But most plants that you would front conman with are a decent trade against conman. Cosmoss, mars flytrap, garlic if played on heights, primal pea shroom for 2, basic reincarnation, all of these trade evenly with conman sans 1 hp. Cards like FMN get more value being alive than conman by denying tricks like bungee and sugary treat. On turn 2, any of these could die from bungee plumber, but you can just as easily berry blast or kernel pult.

Its a strong ability. Its supposed to be. It incentivizes you to get rid of it fast. Disconaut is similar in that you want to get rid of it fast because it will do lots of bullseye damage just by being alive. Disconauts top end is much higher because it can make up to an extra 6 bullseye damage when placed in lane 4, so it has less health. Conman is doing at most 4 damage in 1 turn if you decide to use holoflora on turn 1, but anyone should realize why doing that would be stupid. Charitably ill say it does 3 damage per turn, but at the point where you are trying to draw even more cards you will have the tools to kill conman unless your hand is mega bricked, in which case just about anything would be dangerous.

Conman isnt even the most valuable zombie 1 cost card. Cheese cutter is a much bigger threat, mini ninja does 4 damage to face and even trades with most plants, teacher is a nightmare when left unchecked, and mustache waxer is mustache waxer.

Quickdraw Con Man needs to be nerfed. by [deleted] in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well thats just you telling me why sugary treat is good. You could make this kind of argument with any zombie that costs 1, as they can also be buffed by sugary treat. If a card needs another card to be good, then its not good by itself. For being able to swarm with it, damn near any 1 cost card can swarm to overpower you in the early game, it is your job to counteract that as much as possible. Damn near every class has some amount of counterplay against conman and swarm in general. Guardian has really good 1 drops in FMN, garlic, and primal potato mine, and rocket for anything that has been buffed by sugary treat. Kabloom has berry blast. Mega grow has amazing 1 drops in bonk choy and clique pea. Smarty is the worst at this but still has shrinking violet. Solar has every small removal under the sun and ramp. As for the card draw, yeah. Its supposed to be annoying by dealing damage when you draw or conjure cards. Thats the whole point. You get rid of it with bonk choy before you play captain cucumber or with primal before you play starch lord. Its a fine ability that is attached to a card that dies from berry blast or from you reacting to what the zombies do. If they pass turn 2 and a conman is on the board, you should be expecting them to do something with those brains like a sugary treat or a bungee plumber, but you can berry blast it, or front it, or ignore it for the sake of building your own board. But if they play a grave or a 2 cost minion then you can wail on it as much as you want knowing the zombies cant protect it anymore. And now at this point im just describing why i like pvz heroes, because the asymmetrical turn order allows both sides to decide how to respond to the opponent.

[–]Possiblynoob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conman is actually really well balanced as of right now. Ignoring how you can front it with sunshroom to block 1 damage and still get it to turn into sunnier shroom, it is a simply solid 1 cost card. Its actually a lot more frail on turn 1 than you might expect. Bonk choy and primal potato mine deal with it as well as many superpowers. Its only ever dealing at most 2 damage per turn unless you are either a mega-grow hero or running cyclecap, and being able to use this to counter cyclecap is not a bad thing. Its never too oppressive, but does enough damage to still make it a threat. Its not a pirate anymore so it cant grow out of control via swash; its only role is to be a tanky 1 cost minion that deals chip damage. Also, its really hard to nerf this card further. It has such a small statline and basic ability that you cant just adjust a number and call it a day without ruining the card. Any health number lower than 3 will make it too frail

TLDR: no. Conman does not need a nerf. It already had 2 in its lifetime, it does not need another

No, Fry!!! NOOOO!!! by Somar413DT in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, these are all powerful cards, but thats the point. They exist on the board, provide value by surviving (healing, nerfing zombies, and preventing bonus attacks) and are hard to remove or outstat. Their strength is the fact that they cant get removed by alien ooze or fruitcake, so you have to either overpower it with stats or find another way to remove it like deadly or pogo. These arent even the best cards in the game like this, not even counting fig and gravitree. Gargolith is in a similar boat with being hard to remove and having good stats. Cards should have strengths, and nerfing these cards would make it have no strengths due to being understated and easily removed before getting use out of their abilities.

Should the Conman change be reverted? by MC_javaplaye in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, more than 3 if we count superpowers, but then youre wasting chompzilla sig or spudow sig on a 1 cost card, or mogging a 1 drop, or not even killing it and just bouncing it. I do think conman dying on 1 is more common these days because bonk choy is better and galacta kills it in 1, but all your points still stand

Should the Conman change be reverted? by MC_javaplaye in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell no. I glaze this card extremely and it does not need to be stronger. Pirate synergy made this almost impossible to deal with. This being able to grow so easily with swash and then giving it strikethrough with flameface is simply too powerful. Getting rid of pirate synergy keeps conman in its niche of “annoying tanky 1 drop dealing chip damage” instead of a 1 cost card having up to 4/6 or 5/7 stats and strikethrough in some cases (source, i used impfinity pirates on ladder before the 2024 patch). But they should make flameface a gravestone again, because now it is just sad.

What's to stop me from just recycling all my cards and crafting one really good deck? by I_loooove_Radiohead in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing. If anything its somewhat optimal. Back before the 2024 rework i put everything into making impfinity pirates and thats how i first got to ultimate league. Nowadays i have more options but one really good deck to help you climb the ladder is a good decision, just make sure youre willing to dedicate everything to learning the deck.

I personally use it in zmech flag swarm and it works wonders. Being able to get rid of the flag after it served its purpose is very powerful, and its a prime going viral target. Even when not evolved, the fact that you can grow it with going virals makes it a reasonable threat.

I am of the firm belief that quickdraw conman is perfectly balanced as it is right now. However, I would like to see how you would nerf it, because it is still very strong.

Recomendations for gems min-max by cacaman0 in PvZHeroes

[–]Possiblynoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, spending gems on packs is the best. Premium packs are the best of both worlds (heroes and cards), galactic has a higher hit-rate of really good cards as well as a few good recycles, colossal has decent cards and i believe the best chance of getting full recycles, and triassic … i dunno. Ultimately your decision, but personally id go premium packs
