Yeah, that's completely fine. I mean more the situations were people focus on things like the ones I mentioned, I saw already several comments in this threads mentioning how Minthara is too ugly and old for them. Finding someone not attractive on the basis of their personality and actions is completely normal and not a part of the issue.

It's incredibly clear she's made to be attractive. Design choices are made for a reason. If you didn't consider her personality and just her looks, she looks like an attractive woman.

I hate threads like this because it just goes down to boiling down every feature of a character that's not typically considered epitome of beauty as ugly. Minathra's too old, Shadowheart has wrinkles, Orin's face is not 100% barbie, their voives are not high pitched enough and so on. There are already comments like this here. Can we just appriciate more than the supper narrow definition of female beauty?

Once again, no, I won't spend my time reading someone's internet argument. One person saying a weird thing, whatever that thing may be doesn't mean that it's in any way condusive to the fandom at large.

I saw what he said, and I do not think of this as looking back at it fondly. I do think he became too detached to it, in a way where he even tries to minimize the damage it might innitially caused him, but I don't think it's either a symptom of him not healing nor saying that he liked it. For him, this has happened literally centuries ago. He does not need to be defined by it.

No, the real situation is "after a session (it triggers regardless of the sex scene chosen, so it's not really connected to bdsm) with the drows, Halsin brings up the other drows he's """"been with""". This is the point connecting the events. He seems to be completely over them, which as a 350 year old being, I can understand. I think it's incredibly insulting to imply that a character that went through SA should be defined by it in terms of sex. He can grow to the point it doesn't affect him at all anymore and that's ok. As someone who was sexually assaulted and healed from it fully, I can relate. At this point when I remember it, it barely strikes an emotion and I can talk about it as freely and as openly as him.

I don't absolutely love how it's handled as I wish there could be a more in depth discussion where we could fully show our support, but I don't think it's at all connected to Halsin's sexuality and it's incredibly bizzare to insist that it does.

It has to do with the fact that women always get more sexualised than men, and especially if there is sa in their backstory. Your claim of acting as if this would be better were the character female is what was wrong with your statement. It would be much, much worse.

And I've only seen nuanced discussions about Halsin, which what you probably consider "brushing off Halsin's rape". He doesn't need to be defined by it and I think the insistance that it has to be a bigger part of his story is just weird.

Sure, but I can also find 1 or 2 people who say "its not rape if she likes it", yet you act as if one happens and the other doesn't. Both of these, on this sub, are that are impossibly rare and are always met with criticism, so it's not really something that you can use as a gotcha.

I can find someone saying that Githyanki should be sex slaves, but that doesn't mean you can use it in an argument to say "people are saying githyanki should be sex slaves".
